We would still have the Scriptures given us by God through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

Assembling the known Scripture into one book is hardly an act of great intellectual acumen and is NO reason for Catholics to try to own and control Scripture and it’s interpretation by retroactively laying claim for responsibility of giving it to the world.

Your lack of knowledge seems evident about the many, many conflicts that arose in winnowing down the Bible to 72 books, which Luther and Calvin decided - on their own - to change.
There were dozens of false gospels that were discarded, thanks to the prayers and fasting and many Masses said in the process of eliminating the false doctrines.
The collected Bible is one of the most stupendous works on planet earth, and to blithely claim it was “hardly an act of great intellectual acumen” is astonishing, to say the least. It was anything but some mere compendium - it was the Holy Spirit infused in the intellects of the early Fathers to ensure the accurate conveyance of Truth for all time.
