Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

The Scriptures In Handel’s Messiah

Revelation 19:6

6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

Revelation 11:15:

15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Revelation 19:16

16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.

(King James Version)

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
For the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
For the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
The kingdom of this world
Is become the kingdom of our Lord,
And of His Christ, and of His Christ;
And He shall reign for ever and ever,
For ever and ever, forever and ever,
King of kings, and Lord of lords,
King of kings, and Lord of lords,
And Lord of lords,
And He shall reign,
And He shall reign forever and ever,
King of kings, forever and ever,
And Lord of lords,
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
And He shall reign forever and ever,
King of kings! and Lord of lords!
And He shall reign forever and ever,
King of kings! and Lord of lords!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

For many people, this is the only music from Handel's Messiah with which they are familiar. It is a Magnificent Chorus, and is based on three Verses From The Book of Revelation.

It depicts a Scene in Heaven, when the 24 "Elders" (Presumably the 12 Hebrew Patriarchs and The 12 Apostles), Fall on their Faces and cast off their crowns in Worship Before Almighty God.

Artists and Musicians have attempted to depict this Scene for Centuries, and, of course, always fall short of what the reality must be.

I still remember the first time I heard this Awesome Piece of Music. Leonard Bernstein conducted a Music Appreciation Morning at Boston's Symphony Hall. The Chorus of New England Conservatory (across the street) joined with the Boston Symphony Orchestra to perform this tiny portion of Handel's Messiah. The Maestro explained that, when the King of England first heard this, he stood up in profound respect. Naturally, everybody else in the theater stood too. Since then, it has become customary for everyone to stand when this piece is sung. Every time I have seen Handel's Messiah performed, everybody stands at the opening strains of this piece. Most of the time people sing along. And...sometimes, people lift their hands in prayer. (I do anyway!)

Could you say a little prayer for me? Yesterday I tested + for Covid and feel lousy. On top of that, Tippy is having digestive issues which means I have to suit up every ten minutes and go out into the cold so she can relieve herself.

I am glad that Today's Thread is the Hallelujah Chorus! I sure need it.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

The Greatest of These is Love (1 Corinthians 13)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Hallelujah!

Joining in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our beloved America.

Get well soon, you and Tippy.

BTW. A few times I’ve visited a Catholic church, I noted during mass, when they read from the Gospels, everyone stood up in respect. Like the Hallelujah Chorus.

May our faithful Creator shower blessings of healing upon you both, taking away any and every symptom of illness, and replacing suffering with total health and peace.
