CHRIST IN THE OLD TESTAMENT
Before Bethlehem, Jesus intervened often in this world. This series presents some of those occasions, along with “types” of Christ: people and objects who represent Him and His qualities.

JESUS THE CREATOR CHALLENGES JOB JOB 38-42
Then the LORD answered Job out of the storm.
1 WILLIAM BLAKE "The Lord Answering Job out of the Whirlwind" He said: “Who is this that darkens my counsel with words without knowledge? Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me.
“Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone— while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?

Under the lotus plants he lies, hidden among the reeds in the marsh. The lotuses conceal him in their shadow; the poplars by the stream surround him. When the river rages, he is not alarmed; he is secure, though the Jordan should surge against his mouth.
Can anyone capture him by the eyes, or trap him and pierce his nose?
“Can you pull in the leviathan with a fishhook or tie down his tongue with a rope? Can you put a cord through his nose or pierce his jaw with a hook? Can you make a pet of him like a bird or put him on a leash for your girls?
“If you lay a hand on him, you will remember the struggle and never do it again!
23 SPENCER ALEXANDER McDANIEL "God Showing the Leviathan to Job" “Any hope of subduing him is false; the mere sight of him is overpowering. No one is fierce enough to rouse him. Who then is able to stand against me? Who has a claim against me that I must pay? Everything under heaven belongs to me.”

Really interesting take you had on this, in many ways YOU are the artist today!

Those last several chapters of Job are the longest and earliest creation account in the Bible. Just thought it was a wonderful story to tell, but like James Garner in The Great Escape, I had to become The Scrounger in order to find enough images to do it justice.

Just off topic…There were a couple of images on the Hubble Telescope thread from yesterday - of distant galaxies - that were so astounding that my immediate thought was “how can you see this and not understand that there is an all-powerful Creator?”
If you get a chance, look up that thread and check out those images.

Thanks, Scott. I had indeed enjoyed it—Mike did a gorgeous presentation of it. For that matter, how can one look at Mike (or even Padres fans) and not understand that there is an all-powerful Creator?

Padres fans have it worse than Job listening to his friends.

I loooooove when Jesus Christ the Creator sets Job straight.
The language in those passages is absolutely beautiful.

And He completely humbled the three scoffers.

Interesting point.
.
Job is down to;
“ though He Slays Me yet will I trust Him”
“I Repent in sackcloth and Ashes.”
The Lord never answered ‘Why?’
We can see the ‘Why’ and wrestle with it and try to understand the devil meant it for evil But God turned it to good.
