That's quite an extrapolation and a false one at that. God will protect His Church until the end of time. That doesn't mean He will allow it to suffer when justified, just as He allowed the Jews to suffer plagues in the Old Testament, e.g worshiping a golden calf versus VC II and blessing homos.
Sin has been with us since Adam and Eve, including sodomy.
Trying to pin that only on the Catholic Church, and no else, is downright despicable.
I never tried to pin the sexual abuse of children on the Catholic religion alone. Why are you making false accusations against me?
God will not protect an organization that claims to be a church that is practicing that kind of sin. He didn’t allow Israel to continue in it in the OT. He removed some churches for sin as He warned them in Revelation.
No way He is still protecting the *organization*. There is no *organization without the people in it. The Catholic religion is not an entity or being that can exist without members as if it were an independent life form.
GOD is not protecting your so-called church. Longevity is proof of nothing either. There are other religions older than Catholicism. If longevity were the indicator of God’s hand of protection validating the religion, then that means He validates and protects Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, Confucianism, and Zoroastrianism, to name a few.
And again, for the thousandth time or so, nobody is criticizing that abuse and sin happened in Catholicism. It happens everywhere and that is widely acknowledged by everyone. The issue has always been how it was handled, or rather mishandled. Covering up sin and protecting the perpetrators is gross injustice and THAT is what people are critical.
But frankly, I don’t see any Catholic on this forum acknowledging that that is really the issue. It’s always just a knee jerk Catholic reaction of screeching *anti-Catholic* and *Catholic hater*. Any attempts to correct that errant thinking just falls on deaf ears. I don’t expect it to get through this time either.
