He is the God even of the “wild man.”
Before there was a covenant with Israel…before there was an Israel…God was reaching out to shelter and save those that would be outside the covenant, and even those that would become a thorn in Israel’s side. He was reaching out to one rejected and cast off by Abraham.
He blasts human categories to dust.
You remind me of the two new verses John Piper penned for "Great Is Thy Faithfulness", the first of which is:
I could not love thee, so blind and unfeeling
Covenant promises fell not to me
Then without warning, desire or deserving
I found my treasure, my pleasure in thee
