Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

The Scriptures In Handel’s Messiah
Haggai 2:6-7
6 For thus saith the Lord of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;
7 And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of hosts.
Malachai 3:1
3 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
How Excellent is Your Name!
How we Long To See Your Glory Revealed
Just as We See Lightening
Flashing From the East to the West.
Abba Father,
We Thank You For Your Presence.
We Thank You For Your Promise of Redemption
And We Rejoice With the
Blessed Hope of Your Glory
Being Revealed for Every Eye to See.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

The King James Version
This Piece of Music is 284 years old. The Lyrics, of course, are thousands of years old, as they come from the Scriptures. You may add that the English version of the Lyrics dates back to 1611 (Shakespearian Times) as they are taken from The King James Version of the Bible. One wonders if the music we listen to Today will endure like that. Somehow I don't imagine that Interstellar Explorers will be listening to Taylor Swift as they assume Warp Speed on their way to Proxima Centauri.
They might, perhaps, listen to Handel's Messiah though.
The Oratorio is divided into three Acts. Act 1 concerns the Old Testament Prophecies and the Birth of Christ. Act 2 is His Death and Ressurection, and Act 3 is His Coming Glory and Future Reign.
Handel revised and "upgraded" his Oratorio "Messiah" a number of times. I have several recordings of it, and they vary wildly in Tempo, Orchestration, even the assigned voices for the different parts. However, the "Lyrics" remain the same. The power of the Word is not diminished by the Musical Arrangement.
In this section, a thundering Bass sings the words of two "Minor" Prophets, Haggai and Malachi. (Thus Saith The Lord) The only reason these men are called "Minor" Prophets is because their Books are considerably shorter than the "Major" Prophets (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel). Musically speaking, "Minor" keys and chords sound sad, exotic, mysterious, or even mystical. Most of the messages of the "Minor" Prophets also fit that description, even though it may be just a coincidence in our language!
Both Haggai and Malachi speak of a shaking of the foundations, of an awakening from our slumber of convenience, and a challenge to our religious complacency.
Not such "minor" pronouncements after all!
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

I would love to see music and entertainment in general go back to our roots in glorifying God. That’s how it will be in the afterlife, so we have that to look forward to. Music as worship and expression of adoration of God, the most beautiful and timeless.

Psalm 121
A Song of Ascents.
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills—
from where will my help come?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
4 He who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade at your right hand.
6 The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
8 The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time on and for evermore.
