Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Matthew 1
Joseph Accepts Jesus as His Son
18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about[d]: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit. 19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet[e] did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,[f] because he will save his people from their sins.”
22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”[g] (which means “God with us”).
24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25 But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven
Hallowed be Your Most Holy Name.
How We Long For Your Kingdom,
How We Wait For Your Will to be Done,
Here on Earth, as it Already is, in Heaven!
You Are Our Peace,
Our Wholeness,
Our Shalom,
Our Security,
Our Prosperity,
And Our Future.
We are Nothing Without You.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

In 1984 I was able to visit Bethlehem. At the time, the City was about 85% Arab Christian, but has since changed to a majority Muslim town. When I was there, the major "industry" was that it was the Place of Jesus's Birth. All the Christian Denominations are in agreement about the Place, and there isn't the same type of controversy that surrounds the Place of His Burial.
The actual cave that had been used to house animals is located beneath the altar in the Greek Orthodox Section of the Churches on the site. Although is is decked out with all kinds of gold lamps, candles, incense, and royal trappings, it still feels humble, damp, and NOT a comfortable place to give birth.
Nevertheless, even the Creches from Bethlehem, handmade from Native Olive Wood, show the more European-style shed or stable that we have gotten used to seeing. I still have the one I bought in Bethlehem, and 39 years later, it still smells like Olive Oil. I love it, even if it is idealized and inaccurate historically.
Maybe I'm just proud that I was able to transport it from Tel Aviv to JFK (11 Hours) and another hour to Boston. (that, and five moves afterwards). It will be sad to pack it up and put away for another year, but then it's appearance and display somehow makes it more special if it hasn't been out all year.
There are lots of Christmas Customs that are based on Legend and Culture, but the Place of Jesus's Birth is not disputed, nor is it based on Legend. It's from The Word of God.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
God Bless America.

Yes, I am feeling better, Thank God. I tested myself for you-know-what and again came up negative so it wasn’t THAT. (Eyew)
Just a sinking, lousy, nasty cold that knocked the stuffing out of me.
I’m going to take it real easy just to make sure I don’t relapse again.
NO NEW YEAR’S EVE FOR ME!

AMEN. May peace return to Jerusalem in 2024, and the LORD JESUS be in the hearts of GOD’S people.

Thank you for faithfully posting the Word in spite of sickness. Glad to hear you’re taking it easy and resting up. Prayers continued that you get well soon.
We’re still celebrating Jesus’ birth. Every year we go the full 12 days up to the Epiphany.
Prayers for the Arab Christians in Israel and around the world. They face a challenge for their faith where we can almost take security for granted here in America.

Amen !!! <><
Psalm 109
To the leader. Of David. A Psalm.
1 Do not be silent, O God of my praise.
2 For wicked and deceitful mouths are opened against me,
speaking against me with lying tongues.
3 They beset me with words of hate,
and attack me without cause.
4 In return for my love they accuse me,
even while I make prayer for them.*
5 So they reward me evil for good,
and hatred for my love.
6 They say,* ‘Appoint a wicked man against him;
let an accuser stand on his right.
7 When he is tried, let him be found guilty;
let his prayer be counted as sin.
8 May his days be few;
may another seize his position.
9 May his children be orphans,
and his wife a widow.
10 May his children wander about and beg;
may they be driven out of* the ruins they inhabit.
11 May the creditor seize all that he has;
may strangers plunder the fruits of his toil.
12 May there be no one to do him a kindness,
nor anyone to pity his orphaned children.
13 May his posterity be cut off;
may his name be blotted out in the second generation.
14 May the iniquity of his father* be remembered before the Lord,
and do not let the sin of his mother be blotted out.
15 Let them be before the Lord continually,
and may his* memory be cut off from the earth.
16 For he did not remember to show kindness,
but pursued the poor and needy
and the broken-hearted to their death.
17 He loved to curse; let curses come on him.
He did not like blessing; may it be far from him.
18 He clothed himself with cursing as his coat,
may it soak into his body like water,
like oil into his bones.
19 May it be like a garment that he wraps around himself,
like a belt that he wears every day.’
20 May that be the reward of my accusers from the Lord,
of those who speak evil against my life.
21 But you, O Lord my Lord,
act on my behalf for your name’s sake;
because your steadfast love is good, deliver me.
22 For I am poor and needy,
and my heart is pierced within me.
23 I am gone like a shadow at evening;
I am shaken off like a locust.
24 My knees are weak through fasting;
my body has become gaunt.
25 I am an object of scorn to my accusers;
when they see me, they shake their heads.
26 Help me, O Lord my God!
Save me according to your steadfast love.
27 Let them know that this is your hand;
you, O Lord, have done it.
28 Let them curse, but you will bless.
Let my assailants be put to shame;* may your servant be glad.
29 May my accusers be clothed with dishonor;
may they be wrapped in their own shame as in a mantle.
30 With my mouth I will give great thanks to the Lord;
I will praise him in the midst of the throng.
31 For he stands at the right hand of the needy,
to save them from those who would condemn them to death.
