Video: Who Created God?
PatriotandLiberty ^ | 12/23 | Dr. Don Batten

‘Who created God?’ is an age-old question. Children sometimes ask it because they’re curious. But atheists more commonly ask it because they think it is a ‘gotcha’ question for Christians.

So, is it really a ‘gotcha’ question? Does God—like everything else in the universe—need a cause? Or have atheists made an error in logic in assuming this?

As Dr Don Batten explains, ‘Who created God?’ has a simple, logical answer—so Christians have no need to be intimidated! On the other hand, atheists have some explaining of their own to do when it comes to first causes!

The Great I Am. From the beggining. God always existed. All before you in this existance, everything including this universe came from God’s mind.

Laughable that atheists want to redefine God. The very definition of “God” means that which (whom) is uncreated and is the cause of creation.

But then again, these same atheists once believed in a steady-state universe that eternally existed too, i.e. uncreated. Until that was disproven by red shift . . .

“Who created God?” is really a gottcha question for the atheists because the question its self States a “Who” as a creator. wonder if they think Horton heard him.

an un-winable argument for both sides. I for one will never believe in myths. I believe what my eyes see period.

...and what i see of God, it goes against his very own words more than not...

Well, the idea of an eternal being with no beginning and no end is incomprehensible to humans because we live in a reality where nothing alive is like that.

It's like trying to explain your household budget to your cat (and I've tried ).

The answer to that question always seemed obvious to me: if God is God he can`t have a creator and therefore has to be eternal.

One of the many questions i actually do have is what God did before he decided to create the universe and why he decided to do it after ages and ages of apparently doing nothing at all.

Does anybody know of good bible forums where i could ask questions like these?

That's an excellent question. But I don't think there's anything in the Bible that answers it.

That said, it is interesting that many Bible believers who lack imagination think that God did nothing but twiddle his thumbs forever before creating man.;-)

my personal thought from deep Bible study and comparing Scripture to Scripture is pretty simple yet not directly provable. God exists outside of our concept of time so from His perspective, everything is non-linear. there are Biblical passages that allude to this such as “Before Abraham was, I AM”. as pointed out, can’t prove this concept but it does explain a lot of things that seem unexplainable when looking at the passage of time in a strictly linear sense. just my 2.

Most with a good sense of logic know that everything has a beginning and and ending as well as physical dimensions.

The universe is supposedly ever expanding. Expanding into what? Everything we know of has a method of creation. So yes, who created God?

Does asking these questions make me an atheist?

There is the question of what God did prior to creating the universe, but there is also the question of what God did during the first more than 13,000,000,000 years of the universe’s existence before humans arrived on this planet.

Most likely He occupied himself with other civilizations on other planets around other stars and galaxies. Humans are probably just one of billions of communities created by God.

You are mistaking nonsense for profundity.

———-

The things we “know” are nothing in comparison to our creator. Our minds are not like Gods , there are things beyond our human understanding.

Asking questions does not make you an atheist. Questions can lead to faith and it is faith that holds up our belief.

Interesting idea. But if God created lots of different worlds why did He go to so much trouble with ours? He sent his own son to die for us so we could be saved even after we screwed up time and time again. And He knows we will keep on sinning. Are the creatures inhabiting the other worlds just as bad? And if so why can`t God improve them (or us for that matter)? Or does He not want to?

It's not a matter of being bad. It's a matter of being created with free will (that is, the will to choose between good and evil).

A human can't have strength of character unless he can face the temptation of evil and overcome it. And even that strength of character seems to be a matter of choice (i.e., choosing to have Jesus and the Holy Spirit guide and strengthen us in our fight against temptation).

Being created to be perfect would make us little more than robots...and not very interesting robots at that.
