I’ve written several columns in this space about the weird media meltdown in response to new U.S. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson. First, journalists rushed to tell on themselves by mocking the fact that Johnson and his son use Covenant Eyes, an accountability software designed to help people keep their lives porn-free. Then there was the spate of stories breathlessly informing us that Johnson, a self-confessed Christian, does in fact believe all sorts of Christian things. The term “Christian nationalist” has been chucked about quite a bit, although what those using it actually mean is “Christian in the public square.”
But the ante, as they say, has been upped. James Carville, the famous Democrat political strategist who helped engineer Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential victory, went on HBO’s Realtime with Bill Maher to discuss just how dangerous Mike Johnson and American Christians really are to the United States – as it turns out, very dangerous.

Mike Johnson puts power before Christianity.

I have seen people on the Left say that Johnson violates the Constitution merely by reading the Bible in the morning before he goes to work (of course the Constitution says nothing about religion or the Bible).
Danny Sheehan (the famous lawyer) has decried Johnson as a fundamentalist nutjob and spread the rumor that his job is merely temporary.
IMO they want a guy like this who is beyond the Christian mainstream to be prominent in order to build the narrative that what he represents is to be feared.
Mike Johnson has you all fooled. He lacks the most important thing. Faith
Such tactic may be ridiculous on its face, but it is good for sound bites and memes.
In this case, just because Johnson is a devout Christian, they argue that he wants to make the entire country become Christian and burn at the stake anyone who resists. Just because he reads the Bible, he is a snake-handling neanderthal straight from the backwoods.
The same applies to Trump. Just because Trump wants to restore the country to its Constitutional foundation, he is called a dictator and tyrant.
Because the Left has eliminated critical thinking and has replaced it with emotion, the only way they can argue is by becoming hysterical.
And how do you know this?
Please provide evidence or sources.
You don't have to walk around with a placard that says "Jesus Saves" (figure of speech FWIW) to be a devout Christian.
The Dems are fighting to win; the GOP is fighting to survive. The Dems want money and power; the GOP wants money. Who is likely to prevail?

You don't think people are going to spend 15 minutes on a video just because you post it, do you?
Agreed.
We can only speak of the willful use of 'argumentum or reductio ad absurdum' up to the point when that willful choice becomes hard-wired. At this point of no return the one who freely chooses lies to alter reality --for a 'good' purpose---becomes a hard-wired pathological Big Liar who lies all the time and for no reason or need at all.
Our Lord designed our brains so that our choices, for good or evil can and will become hard-wired to facilitate or quicken the choice of good or evil. So the man or woman who chooses truth and virtue eventually becomes virtuous and the sinner who chooses sin becomes evil. In this way we choose our eternal destiny.
Examples of Big Liars: Karl Marx, Stalin, Biden, Soros. Examples of absurdity: Gates, Harari, and others of that inner circle of absurdity.
CARVILE IS SUPPOSED TO BE A CATHOLIC!
Very true. Good point.
Half of the godless 'Rat Party claim to be Catholic (e.g. Nancy Pelosi) and they believe that they own the Catholic Church... maybe they do. 🤷
