Call me crazy, but whenever a politican tells me that God told him anything, i get skeptical. Yes, I’m a Christian. Yes, I believe God speaks to people. But my inherent distrust of politicians is just too strong.

Im a bit more skeptical than you. Usually when someone says they felt God talked to them, it’s usually the outcome they desired.

There is a difference between saying “the lord told me to do this” and “the lord told me to tell you to do this”.
The first is between that person and God, and I don’t presume to know whether it happened. The 2nd I’m going to be very skeptical about.

But my inherent distrust of politicians is just too strong. I couldn’t have said it better. This is sort of a “trust but verify” thing here. And the only way we can do the “verify” part is to wait and see what happens.
