[The Church's problem is apparently being too masculine.] |
Impromptu words of the Holy Father
Thank you for this visit. And thank you for your work. There is a good address here with theological matters, but because of my health it is better not to read it. I will hand it out to you.
Thank you for what you do. Theology, theological reflection, is very important. But there is something about you that I do not like; pardon my sincerity. One, two, three, four women: poor women! They are alone! Ah, excuse me, five. We must advance in this. Women have a capacity for theological reflection that is different to that of us men. It will be because I have studied the theology of a woman a great deal. I was helped by a good German woman, Hanna-Barbara Gerl, on Guardini. She had studied that history and the theology of that woman was not so deep, but it is beautiful, it is creative. And now, in the upcoming meeting of the nine Cardinals, we will reflect on the feminine dimension of the Church.
The Church is woman. And if we do not know what a woman is, what the theology of a woman is, we will never understand what the Church is. One of the great sins we have had is to “masculinize” the Church. And this is not solved by the ministerial path; that is something else. It is resolved in the mystical way, the real way. Balthasar’s thought has brought me so much light: Petrine principle and Marian principle. This can be debated, but the two principles are there. The Marian is more important than the Petrine, because there is the bride Church, the woman Church, without being masculine.
And you will ask me: where does this discussion lead? Not only to tell you that you should have more women here – that is one thing – but to help reflect. The Church as woman, the Church as a bride. And this is a task that I ask of you, please. To make the Church less masculine.
Right now, the Church needs proud leaders devoted to preserving civilization and inspiring excellence. What it doesn’t need are pusillanimous demagogues committed to seeking approval.
Meanwhile, Bergoglio is attacking traditional nuns and shutting-down their convents.
He is becoming MORE HERETICAL every damn day!!
Exactly.
3 For the time is coming when people will not accept sound doctrine, but they will follow their own desires and accumulate teachers who will preach to their itching ears. 4 They will shut their ears to the truth and be captivated by myths. 5 As for you, always be sober. Endure hardships, do the work of preaching the gospel, and carry out your ministry to the fullest extent.
The Vatican is financed in part by the "Peter's Pence" collection, which is once a year (and revenues from which have been dropping like a rock).
The Church is our “Holy Mother”, and she needs strong, bold, courageous, masculine SONS to proclaim the Gospel to a sinful world.
That pathetic creep James Martin is exactly the sort of “son” our Holy Mother Church does NOT need but has entirely too many of. Mr. Bergoglio himself is another.
Yes thanks, I remember. Leave the plates empty. There are already way too many churches. I live in a very active religious town, 2,700 people, 10 churches, and the only Catholic Church is a “mission” due to low membership. One priest from Africa serves the 5 Catholic “churches” in the general area. Virtually no children attend. The church has one 75 year-old female “altar girl”, no kids want to serve. Most of the attendees can barely walk, are in their 80’s, and are driven to church by their sons and daughters. It will be gone soon.
The Trad Church I go too is thriving.
Are we to assume from this that Christ is effeminate?
Christ is the bridegroom and his church is the bride. Like in the scripture about husbands laying down their lives for wives as Christ did for His church.
Good to hear, what state?
Wait, it’s Trad? As in Latin Mass? How wonderful if so! I think the last one I attended was in a tiny village in Italy years ago.
No, not at all. But Jorge Bergoglio, Frs. James Martin, Thomas Reese, Antonia Spadaro, (all Jesuits) are not only effeminate, they could be something more sinister.
(I'll post full article tomorrow)
So “The Church” is not the body of Christ. It is the laity and priesthood. Hence the feminization of the Church. Got it!
This is precisely why I am not a Roman. I am, however, Catholic.
