TYLER, Texas (LifeSiteNews) –– Early this morning, the Vatican released the shocking news that Pope Francis has “relieved” Bishop Joseph Strickland of his position as bishop of the Diocese of Tyler.

Knowing that Bishop Strickland is up very early, I ventured to give him a call moments after the news came down that Pope Francis had removed him. But he answered, obviously awake already. Noon, Rome time, is when he was removed but for him that translates into 5 a.m. in Texas.
I’m interviewing him later today, but I wanted to give you a little of His Excellency’s first reaction. I was awkward, speechless, and at a loss for what to say other than telling this great man of the love and thanks that the faithful have for his heroic witness to Christ and His unchanging Truth.
Bishop Strickland started with a prayer before we spoke, then he let me know said he was a little dazed but at peace. Here is a snippet of our conversation which will continue in our interview later today.
Bishop Strickland said:
I stand by all the things that were listed as complaints against me. I know I didn’t implement Traditionis Custodes [the Pope Francis decree restricting the Traditional Latin Mass] because I can’t starve out part of my flock.” He added, “I’d do it the same way again. I feel very much at peace in the Lord and the Truth that He died for.

From what I understand, the only church offering the TLM in the Diocese of Tyler was administered by the FSSP. So I don’t understand how that could be a violation of Bergoglio’s draconian TC.
The Cathedral also has the Latin Mass.
I hope I live to see the defeat of post-modernism and neo-marxism. Its literally invaded and infected every institution on this earth - even the Catholic Church, and at the highest level too

I know that in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, the TLM is now offered in at least two locations: Regina Caeli (FSSP) and Church of the Annunciation (diocesan); yet Bergoglio has not sent an apostalic visitation to Cardinal DiNardo.
Well,at least we now understand...Francis wants to toss the good priests and religious and keep the ones like fr James Martin that will drag all souls to helll....To his real master......
Seems to me the straw that broke the camel’s back was when Strickland protested the tranny “sisters” at the Dodgers game — against the wishes of the local Ordinary.
The fingerprints of the Jack Ass French Apostolic Nuncio to the US, Cardinal Christophe Pierre, a Nasty Piece of Work, who is Bergiglio’s ax man in Washington. He should be run out of town on a rail.
Bergoglio allows Comminist Red China to appoint its bishops, and fires an East Texas small town bishop for allowing a Catholic mass. For people who want it - so much for synodality, eh?
All while promoting Homoglobo and gay marriage.

I'm sure you think that homosexual abuse of children is a horrible thing. And rightly so.
In Bergoglio's mind, being Catholic ... and especially preferring the Latin Mass ... is far worse than being a homosexual child molester.
Bishop Strickland got "fired" for the most egregious offense Bergoglio can think of: He is Catholic.
