Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Bless the LORD,
Oh My Soul,
and let All That is Within Me Bless His Most Holy Name!
Abba, Father,
We Praise and Worship You,
You Alone Are Worthy of Worship and Praise,
For You Alone Are The One True God,
As the Nations Rage So Furiously Against You,
And Against Your People,
We Know That You Are Our Shelter,
Our Strength and our Song,
Our Refuge in Times of Trouble,
Our Rock and Our Redeemer!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

In this one line, we are introduced to Mark. We will hear more about him later. Mark was a cousin of Barnabas, and, as we shall see, Barnabas vigorously defends him.

Some speculate that the lad who fled the Garden of Gethsemane the night of Jesus's arrest is the Evangelist Mark. Mark is the only Evangelist who records this embarrassing moment, where he fled so hurriedly that he left his tunic behind! As we will see, this unfortunate trait will show up in the Book of Acts, when, at a time when Paul needs him the most, Mark "deserts" (Paul's word) him. This causes a rift between Paul and Barnabas, but, as Paul's letters show, there is Peace and Forgiveness in the end.

Jewish People in the First Century (and many today) have a Hebrew name and a name that is their legal name in their home country. John Mark (whom we now call St. Mark) is a perfect example of this. "John" was his Hebrew name, and "Mark" was his "Roman Empire" name.

Tradition connects this "John Mark" with the Evangelist Mark, and he is beloved of the people of both Egypt and the great city of Venice, Italy. So although his missionary journeys are not detailed in the Book of Acts as much as Paul's, it seems that he got around!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Thank you for sharing that. I was astounded at first that there was such a small response to the poll. Then I saw that it was on “Linked In”. Not too many people use that anymore. If it were on X, Instagram, or FB, it probably would have gotten a bigger response.

Anyone on this site who uses Linked In can participate, and I encourage you all to make your voices heard.

Many of us avoid the big woke social media, including Linked In. I don’t trust how any of them use our data.

Prayer for the peace of Jerusalem

“May they prosper who love you.
“May peace be within your walls,
And prosperity within your palaces.”
For the sake of my brothers and my friends,
I will now say, “May peace be within you.”
For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
I will seek your good.
(Psalm 122:6-9)

Yes. I agree. I have disengaged from nearly all of them.

It is intentionally on LinkedIn because there are no “bots” or “anonymous” posts there. Responses are from real people who you can clearly see their personal and professional BIOS as well as who their 1st, 2nd and 3rd tier connections are.

A vote here means you are putting your personal and professional reputation behind your vote. It is not about quantity of votes but quality.

I understand. Hopefully, by placing it on FR, there will be more responses. Many FReepers are also on that site.

Indeed, LI does put a person’s professional and social life on the line, as you say.

No doubt just the fact that many in my LinkedIn network have read the poll question and for whatever personal and professional reason have chosen not to publicly express their personal and/or professional support for Israel and opposition to Terrorism perpetrated by Hamas and others.
