This present day I stand amazed,
At the realms where lawless men abound;
When haters rage against our godly founding,
And righteous men are scarcely to be found.

How can I sing: “God bless America,”
When our nation abhors the living God?
When righteousness is treated as evil:
In such days, I raise my song to God.

From young to old, folly reigns;
Inflicting tyranny and oppressing bands;
Enslaving all in lawless retribution;
One’s only hope is found in Jesus Christ.

How can I sing: “God bless America,”
When our people despise His righteous ways?
For when they shout: “Let us cast His bands asunder!”
My heart cries out to my eternal King.

I will joy in the God of my salvation;
My heart fixed on all His righteous ways.
My song of Thy wondrous love and kindness;
My hope in Thy blessed coming Day!

And now I sing of my Heavenly Father;
And of His Son, whose blood was shed for me!
And set my gaze toward my heavenly country
As I live out my earthly pilgrim days.

I shall raise my song to Thee!

Kate Smith first performed “God Bless America” the day before Veteran’s Day in 1938. She was a patriotic American, who wanted to encourage fellow citizens as they suffered through a terrible depression and saw a world being torn apart by Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. She wanted to reach Americans with the faith she felt for the future of the nation.

As a leading performer in a radio market reaching nearly every household in the country, her way would be through song. So, Kate asked Irving Berlin to write a song that would cause citizens to embrace a positive perception of the country. Irving said he already had what she was looking for and found a song he had written 22 years ago, but never published. They were unsure how the song would be received but agreed to never accept any profits. The Boy Scouts of America have been the recipient of millions in royalties.

For all time “God Bless America”, causes patriotic inspirations and elicits memories of the extraordinary commitment to individual liberty this country was intended to have. From beginning to end, the song reads as a prayer directed towards petitioning for the beauty, courage, and spirit of our country to be treasured and renewed. Part way through the first performance of the song you will see Ronald Reagan who in 1986 awarded Kate the Presidential Medal of Freedom. For veterans of WW II, Korea, Cold War, Vietnam, and Iraq, the song has been cherished for representing a truly meaningful expression of their service.

Therefore, Kate Smith had to be denigrated in the ongoing effort to deform and destroy this country as founded. The vehicle chosen was the song “That's Why Darkies Were Born”, which Paul Robison and Kate Smith recorded to strike at racism by sarcastically exaggerating perceptions opposite to the realities of black humanity. A radio address in 1945 found on the “Tune In” magazine, linked to below, provides her true attitude about racial tolerance.

Morally and intellectually crippled individuals decided to ignore Kate’s character and to consider her singing the song inflicted emotional damage on them. They were able to force the Philadelphia Flyers executives, owners, and media to cover and remove her statue from the team stadium entrance. All indicated their purity by receiving effortless, addictive compassion as the drug of choice.

Creating theaters of delusion provides those seeking aristocrat status useful constituencies. Social and political initiatives in private institutions and governments offer spurious emotional and physical security in exchange for abject conformity. These cunning moral precepts, laws, and rules, well marinated in newly defined social justice, allow cultural Marxism to hold mainstream prominence in support of White Privilege, Black Lives Matter, and Critical Race Theory.

Kate Smith's first performance of "God Bless America" from November 10, 1938--the day before Armistice Day--can be heard here. Note that she includes the line "from the green fields in Virginia to the gold fields out in Nome," which has since been dropped--but I wish it wasn't. The hit version from 1939 can be heard here.

Interesting that she did a song with Paul Robeson. Comrade Robeson was a hard-core Stalinist. During WWII he waxed a number of Stalinist propaganda tunes including Native Land or "Vast Country, My Homeland," which includes the line "in big golden letters, we write the Stalinist code," although he doesn't sing those words on the record. For decades, the first couple of measures of the tune were the call sign for Radio Mocow--and they may still be.
