Nothing like taking a simple concept and then blathering it all over the board.
Jesus had to die because Man is incapable of being sinless and obedient to God - hence, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
Once saved by believing in Jesus, we are still sinful creatures and those who realize their sinfulness and inability to correct themselves - and feel guilty about it and grateful for the gift of Jesus’ blood - are headed for Heaven.
As we get closer and closer to the Tribulation period this very subject will come up.
Why does God allow....?
I thought God was good...?
I thought God was love....?
If we truly think about it, and personalize it - it’s a living miracle any of us are Saved as we realized our stance before The Sovereign God. We then confessed, repented, believed, and declared with our hearts, minds, and mouth that He is Worthy and only He Saves.
Regarding the article - very long and I need another cup of coffee to soak it in and unpackage it.
THanks for the awesome post!
Highly recommend reading this....we cannot understand the love of God and what Christ did on the cross apart from understanding His wrath - from which the cross saves us.
Martyn Lloyd-Jones one of the best preachers/writers of the late 1900’s, British. This is crystal clear.
Every believer needs to understand what is so well written here.
The love of God and the wrath of God are two sides of the same coin.........Wayne Jacobsen says the wrath of God is poured out because of what sin does to the objects of His love.
Saved for further recirculation, text and/or link.
Lots of people are so confused regarding this natter as to unnecessary argumentation, particularly concerning works versus terms of justification.
Many think God is our vending machine.
Thank you, King Jesus, for saving us.
