A Catholic priest in San Francisco published an open letter to Pope Francis accusing the pontiff of “hurting” his parish and ministry by promoting homosexuality and urging him to preach the Gospel clearly.
“My Papa Francesco, I must tell you that you are making my job as a parish priest difficult,” wrote Father Joseph Illo of Star of the Sea Parish in the letter dated October 6.
“I am writing to you in the spirit of parrhesia, a biblical word you have used several times to encourage us to speak freely, boldly, and without fear of disagreement,” the priest said. “Please receive the following words freely, not from Rome, but from the peripheries, from a simple parish priest.”
Father Illo noted that he works “in one of the declining parishes of San Francisco, California, a city that prides itself in having evolved beyond faith in God.”
“In my city, the faith is openly mocked and attacked, and my parishioners are struggling to believe in Jesus. Most of their family members, friends, and co-workers have abandoned the Christian faith,” he described. “My parishioners are clinging to the simple truths of our faith, especially the Church’s teachings about the human person.”
But Father Illo said that Pope Francis’ promotion of homosexuality has harmed his flock and made his work as a pastor “very difficult.”
I think Luther had some issues with the Pope too.
Well, its been quite a while since the church has seen a schism. Frankie and company might just spark one.
In all the versions of the bible and in all languauges, excepting the latest "revision" by the "open and affirming" Methodists, ELCA and their ilk, who have cheered removing/revising verses from Romans 1.
The lavender wing of the Vatican wants to "bless" what Romans 1 states: "26 For this cause, God delivered them up to shameful affections. For their women have changed the natural use into that use which is against nature. 27 And, in like manner, the men also, leaving the natural use of the women, have burned in their lusts, one towards another: men with men, working that which is filthy and receiving in themselves the recompense which was due to their error."
All the pleasant chit-chat about LGBT+ has to 1) reject or 2) ignore. But the text isn't going away....
Francis could become the greatest Catholic to undermine the local Catholic churches, worlwide, ever.
Euthanasia, homosexuality and LGBTQIA+ et al., the childless career couple, easy divorce, all this BLM and other race pandering...
What it all really boil down to is a form of identity politics, a popularity contest.
If you want to be a leader: (1) Show action in crisis, never let a crisis go to waste, example Covid. (2) Never blame those who you want supporting you, victimize them. They have to be the victim even if they are the statistical majority and feeding the minority and scapegoat culprit to the gas chambers and ovens.
Everyone in real power knows this. You CANNOT tell people that they are responsible, that they are at fault, they they should look into a mirror and blame themselves for their economic, physical, health, relational, educational, home, family, career situation. ***People do not want to hear that!***
They want to be told that it’s ANYONE except their own fault, and that what it is they like is acceptable.
***Today, we EMBRACE self destructive behaviors collectively as a society in order to pander to minority groups that want to feel good about themselves.***
To this end, may it be a local or national politician, a manager in a corporation or bureaucrat, an artist, or even the Pope, you need to cheer on the LGBTQIA+ community. You need to tell them that you’re proud of them, that it’s normal, natural, common, accepted, legal, ethical, in fact an act of courage and that one should be “proud” to be like that. Never mind that this sexual behavior i.e. fetish is correlated and has a strong causality to anal fissures, syphilis, HIV/AIDS, and is naturally childless.
What we are doing today is no different than if a politician or leader where to pander to smokers. It’s a self destructive behavior, only in the case of smoking society does not accept the behavior, shuns it, and forces those people who engage in this behavior into the proverbial “closet.”
Other such movements are the acceptance of drugs, prostitution, pedophilia, and many more. Instead of ostracizing and shunning this these behaviors, those who want to be in leadership take these groups and use them to self promote.
The Pope is doing he same thing.

While those discussing the matter from a religious standpoint are almost always outraged in what amounts to a blatant break with Biblical defined standards, church doctrine for >1,700 years, the secular left which is amoral at best, the political class which is purely for sale, are OK with this and since society is moving in a secular direction, this buys the Pope favor among the masses.
He might be one of the worst Popes ever when it comes to following actual doctrine, but he sure is liked by Hollywood.
