I feel CatOwner’s frustration and anger about this to be honest. Most of us have been fools and we’ve trusted the “W’s”, Obama’s, and Bolton’s of the world to only have them pull the wool over our eyes.
That said, God always provides a way up to the last second of life - even for those who perpetrated the crimes and evil. That’s how loving and merciful He is.
I understand but my contention is that stupidity or gullibility are not reasons for punishment. Correction, yes, but not punishment.
We see through a glass darkly but we cannot help that and not a one of us is so spiritual that we never slip up or make mistakes or errors in judgment. And not everyone has good discernment.
I think one of the ways Christians have been duped into falling into error is by the *You don’t trust ________? What kind of Christian are you?*
Well, being a Christian does NOT mean just blindly trusting everyone as if that is a virtue. The heart is deceitful above all else and desperately wicked and man is inclined towards evil as the sparks fly upward.
What it does mean, is that WE are to be trustworthy, that people should be able to trust us because we bear the name of Christ.
