Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

John 11
The Plot to Kill Jesus
45 Therefore many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary, and had seen what Jesus did, believed in him. 46 But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. 47 Then the chief priests and the Pharisees called a meeting of the Sanhedrin.
“What are we accomplishing?” they asked. “Here is this man performing many signs. 48 If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and then the Romans will come and take away both our temple and our nation.”
49 Then one of them, named Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, spoke up, “You know nothing at all! 50 You do not realize that it is better for you that one man die for the people than that the whole nation perish.”
51 He did not say this on his own, but as high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the Jewish nation, 52 and not only for that nation but also for the scattered children of God, to bring them together and make them one. 53 So from that day on they plotted to take his life.
54 Therefore Jesus no longer moved about publicly among the people of Judea. Instead he withdrew to a region near the wilderness, to a village called Ephraim, where he stayed with his disciples.
55 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, many went up from the country to Jerusalem for their ceremonial cleansing before the Passover. 56 They kept looking for Jesus, and as they stood in the temple courts they asked one another, “What do you think? Isn’t he coming to the festival at all?” 57 But the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that anyone who found out where Jesus was should report it so that they might arrest him.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Lord and our God
How Faithfully You Keep Us in Your Care!
You Are Our Keeper,
The Shade on Our Right Hand.
And we pray that Your Love Reflects through us,
And Reaches Out,
Tearing Down The Strongholds of the enemy.
Let us Love You
With our Whole Heart,
Our Whole Soul,
Our Whole Mind,
And Our Whole Strength!
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

During my visit to Israel, there was a guy with a camel at every bus stop.
"You want to sit on my camel? Take Picture? ONE DOLLAR!"
I was going to take up the offer, but Avi, our wonderful guide, cautioned me.
"You gotta watch out for these guys. It may be one dollar to get ON the camel, but FIVE dollars to get OFF the camel!"
A story comes to us from the East about "How to Load a Camel for a Journey". Camels are amazing creatures and can carry a heavy load, but they are not as glamorous as a horse, or as patient as a donkey. They have to be loaded carefully, one bit at a time (or so the legend goes) while they are in a kneeling position. Then, once loaded, they stand up. Care must be taken not to overload the camel, even by one strand of straw. And that, supposedly, is the origin of the expression:
THAT'S THE LAST STRAW!
The accumulation of events are loaded up, but one final thing, which can even be insignificant, brinks total breakdown.
Many of Jesus' miracles were private and personal, and included a caution to keep them that way. Others occurred in public, in the face of huge crowds, and witnessed by the religious authorities. The Raising of Lazarus was the latter. There was no way to get around this miracle. And so, those who should have known better were in a very difficult situation.
Do they drop everything, including jobs, political power, and position in society to follow Jesus? There is some indication in Scripture that at least two did exactly that.
Do they ignore Jesus and just hope he'll fade away? The great scholar Gamaliel later advised this in Acts Chapter 5.
The third option is the one that is depicted here in the 11th Chapter of the Gospel of John. This is when the opposition starts actively plotting to kill Jesus.
The plotters have seen miracles occur before their very eyes. Their arguments and debates with Jesus have all been debunked, usually with a parable, a demonstration of Divine Power, or even a humorous rebuke. Their questions were countered with more questions, and their arguments rang hollow in the face of irrefutable wisdom. Their reaction seems crazy to us.
We see similar craziness in our world today!
There have been some earth-shattering events recently that have been piling up. Yet, many people seem to be asleep. Most people trust the Government and the Media, as well as Religion, the Medical Establishment and Academia. These Time-Honored Institutions were, after all, founded to serve Humanity, were they not? People who called attention to nefarious motives were called "Right-Wing Nutcases", "Conspiracy Theorists", and "Paranoid". Perhaps they did go overboard a bit. But then, little by little, things are revealed that show that the "Conspiracy Theorists" may have had a valid point. I am noticing this most with the revival of COVID restrictions, news from Maui. People who were all-in for the Left Wing Agenda are questioning...and of course, questioning is the first step to enlightenment.
There will always be those who Defend the Narrative, but things are starting to change. What will be the Straw that Breaks the Camel's Back?
I believe that, in the context of the Gospel of John, the Raising of Lazarus from the Dead was the Final Straw for the "Powers that Be".
John may have thought this too, because, immediately after this Profound Miracle, the plot is hatched to get rid of Jesus. Tomorrow's Chapter 12 is the Beginning of The Passion According to John.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)
God Bless America.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Psalm 6
To the leader: with stringed instruments; according to The Sheminith. A Psalm of David.
1 O Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger,
or discipline me in your wrath.
2 Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am languishing;
O Lord, heal me, for my bones are shaking with terror.
3 My soul also is struck with terror,
while you, O Lord—how long?
4 Turn, O Lord, save my life;
deliver me for the sake of your steadfast love.
5 For in death there is no remembrance of you;
in Sheol who can give you praise?
6 I am weary with my moaning;
every night I flood my bed with tears;
I drench my couch with my weeping.
7 My eyes waste away because of grief;
they grow weak because of all my foes.
8 Depart from me, all you workers of evil,
for the Lord has heard the sound of my weeping.
9 The Lord has heard my supplication;
the Lord accepts my prayer.
10 All my enemies shall be ashamed and struck with terror;
they shall turn back, and in a moment be put to shame.
