The dude is going to be waiting for the rapture forever. In fact when Christ returns and the rapture hasn’t happened he’s going to fight against Christ because the mythical rapture that doesn’t exist biblically will have fooled him into believing that Christ is the anti-Christ.

I do think this idea that the saints won’t go through a severe persecution is a mostly American thing. I don’t prescribe to the rapture but I do reserve the right to change my mind halfway into the air. Tribulations are for all believers at some level.
