Despite the pope's yelling and the FBI's spying, traditional Catholic Latin Mass is booming

The pope yells about them. Joe Biden's FBI spies on them.

But in a rather astonishing development, efforts to suppress the traditional Latin Mass among the Catholics is booming, which kind of tells us what's really going on.

Even the mainstream media is noticing.

According to a page one story in the Miami Herald:

Traditional Latin Mass, also called the extraordinary form of the Roman rite, or the Tridentine Mass, has been celebrated in the Archdiocese of Miami for the past 40 years, beginning under former Archbishop Edward McCarthy. In recent years, Miami’s community has steadily grown, relocating to five different chapels in the past 10 years to acccommodate the growth.
...and...
Miami’s Latin Mass community has more than doubled in the past five years — up from an average of 112 congregants in 2017 to 320 in 2023 — according to records taken by Frank Andollo, who’s been going to the services for 10 years. People drive from as far north as Palm Beach County and as far south as the Florida Keys to make it to Latin Mass at Belen on Sundays.
Well, ahem. Now we know what the hullabaloo is all about.

The numbers cited don't sound like much but imagine if it were a stock -- that would be a very high rate of growth showing no signs of slowing down.

Maybe there's some sort of revolution going on. The scary thing for the suppressors is that reports show that it's young people taking the lead. The Herald's photos show all young people.

This is what's rolling in from the younger Catholics at the pope's ongoing Synod, too, which is a gathering intended to bring in the laity to Church decisions:

All ‘popes’ elected by the College of Cardinals subsequent to Vatican II are null and void. The last legal pope was Pope Pius XII. The entire Vatican II fiasco negates the current Vatican and its inhabitants as well as all ‘catholic’ churches that follow Vatican II edicts.

There are quite a few Latin chapels spread about the United States, Canada and South America; unfortunately, they are few and far.

I’d really like to know how this woman learned an almost dead language like Latin.... where is it being taught nowadays?

Latin is a high school course,m of course. A Traditional Catholic learns the mass by regular attendance and using their missal.

My parents, back in the day, had their own missals, which they brought with them to Mass. If you bring your own missal when you travel, no problem. I think soldiers used to bring them along when they deployed, like in WWII.

If Pope and FBI are against it, then it must be the real deal.

Joshua, Your ignorance is amazing and yet very sad. The Latin Mass is a solemn dramatic RITE that was established over 2000 a year period and was destroyed in a few days. Understanding Latin is immaterial.

The nearest Tridentine Latin Mass is about an hour away from us, a similar distance as the Byzantine liturgy. Personal preference, but I will attend the Eastern Rite, which is every bit as traditionalist as the Tridentine, when I go that far.

My local rural parish has a solid, young priest who celebrates the Novus Ordo with many of the prayers in Latin and ad orientum. It is a beautiful mass that attracts lots of young families.

Is there a Catholic Sunday school for Latine learners?

It's called Catholic Grammar School, Catholic H.S., and for some of us Seminary (a year at least for me).

But don't ask me for much more than a Pater Noster at this point.

They teach classical Latin, which has some modest differences in pronunciation and grammar from ecclesiastical Latin, but that's not a big problem.

Should have read "... modest differences in pronunciation and vocabulary from ...".
