RC Sproul is one of the worst offenders of Preterism.
Catholics fall into the trap too along with other Univeralists.

I believe Catholics, by and large, fall into the Amillennial camp, as do most Lutherans, Anglicans, Wesleyans, and Reformed/ Presbyterian believers. They follow the interpretation of Augustine of Hippo, who thought the Book of Revelation to be largely allegorical. They are not preterists, partial or total. However, they believe that the church has replaced Israel permanently and that at this point, there is no end times role for that nation. However, the Westminster Larger Catechism states that the Jews will return to Christ before the Second Coming.

Preterism has its adherents among the Theonomist faction within Presbyterianism, such as Gary North, Rousas Rushdoony, etc. R.C. Sproul was not a theonomist but has supported this view in a book he wrote about 20 years ago. Outside the Theonomists, the Churches of Christ have some members who hold to a preterist position, despite being anti-Calvinist. They are something of an outlier among low church Protestants, such as Baptists, Pentecostal, and Bible church believers, who are premillennial and dispensational, for the most part.
