With communism, the government culls the herd.
Communists and socialists aren’t really communists and socialists. They could care less about how to make those systems actually work. What they really are is anti-capitalists; their true goal is to destroy capitalism and they don’t care what it’s replaced with. But the only way to destroy capitalism is to give the government absolute power to do that, so it is always replaced by utter complete tyranny and fascism. And since its goal from the start is to destroy and not create, it always goes on a killing spree, never finding enough people to kill.
Collectivists of any flavor whether they are communists, fascists, socialists or whatever they are all simply people who want a free ride. They all see themselves as perhaps the commissar of poetry and dance and not the slob mucking out stables now that draft animals have replaced tractors.
