Now I answered your question.
Her womb was filled with the Holy Spirit? Chapter and verse, please.
Do you honestly think the Holy Spirit is opposed to sex between a husband and wife?
And why would He be?
Sex was GOD'S idea and design for humanity. He blessed it and sanctified it.
Again, do you all think that sex is sinful that a husband and wife having sex is somehow unworthy of the God whose idea and design it was?
You are aware, aren't you, that believers are the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in us? Does that preclude sex between husband and wife for believers?
Because by our reasoning, since believers are sealed by the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, their bodies would be holy and then they wouldn't want sex. Or shouldn't have it. Or it would be wrong if they did.
Or they didn't really love each other.
Or something.
You really need to look it up for yourself.
From Mary being told, and Joseph in his dream,
from messengers of God that the Holy Spirit has come upon her?
And still you do not believe she was filled with the Holy Spirit?
Kecharitomene?
Not unique enough for you?
A pregnant Mary visiting her kinswoman,
even filled Elizabeth with the Holy Spirit by the Real Presence of her pregnant visitation.
smh
Do you honestly think the Holy Spirit is opposed to sex between a husband and wife? .
No and that’s a silly damn deflection here.
No, it’s obvious to everyone that God invented human sexuality for it’s marital purposes.
But why do you diminish the choosing of Mary and Joseph as ordinary?
Why on earth would you equate those 2 people with the run-of-the-mill “sex between husband and wife”?
Do you believe they were called to be different than you or I?
Now- are there times when God was opposed to having sex for his reason alone?
Menstrual Issues aside …, YES.
It is written, that Joseph did – as having been commanded by an Angel of the Lord,
receive the Blessed Virgin as his wife- and - “knew her not, until she brought forth a son..”
Now you will say aha!.
But lets focus on what the Angel commanded Joseph in his dream.
Just whose idea was it that Joseph was to “know her not”?
Reading the text, it can be implied that the Angel told Joseph not to consummate their marriage until after the birth of Jesus.
Now I will say “until” is not definitive to say Joseph was waiting for his opportunity.
That requires an extra-biblical study of biased Christians.
But it is understandable, and probable that Joseph was commanded not to have intercourse with the Virgin Mary at this time.
Why ? To maintain the scripture that a Virgin “will hold and will bear a son….”
After all, the Angel even pointed out this “virgin” prophesy for Joseph.
So yes in THIS instance,
the Holy Spirit WAS OPPOSED to sex here with the first family.
Is it such a stretch then to believe -
that Joseph, AS A RIGHTEOUS man,
would not hold such a Holy Reverence for the Womb that GOD impregnated-
and gave us the Savior of the World?
That he could not hold back his human hormonal urges… as Christ would say later…
FOR THE SAKE Of the Kingdom of Heaven?
If believing in that is wrong, I’ll take my chances…
You are aware, aren't you, that believers are the temple of the Holy Spirit,
who is in us?
Does that preclude sex between husband and wife for believers? .
Well I don’t know anything about that sort of self-proclamation,
but in the case of the Blessed Virgin Mary -
Angels of the Lord had TOLD HER such was given to her.
That’s why it is WRITTEN,
“Henceforth ALL generations will call me “Blessed”.
How about we start calling her that, Blessed?
