The Greek text of this Crucifixion passage
Is properly translated into English AS "Behold" or "Look"
- AND is never translated as your "given"
in 30+ occurrences of scripture as IT IS WRITTEN...
So yeah, your changing God-Breathed scripture there...
Whats really cool about the greek there- ( beyond the fact that it doesnt mean "given"
as you want some to believe)
But its the exact same word the Angel uses to calm the Shepherds,
And the same word Gabriel uses to tell Mary...
"Behold, you will conceive..."
(Neither of these usages imply "given" either).
That's pretty cool though- from the very Beginning...Behold...
to the Finish on the Cross... Behold.,,

Im just saying you cant change the meaning of Holy text
to make it say what you want.

27 After that, he saith to the disciple: Behold thy mother. And from that hour, the disciple took her to his own.
So where is the "US" that appears in your statement?
Because we love her, as the Mother given us from the Cross.

Literal Greek translation…
🔎 “Then Jesus, having seen His mother and the disciple whom He was loving standing by, says to His mother, Woman, see, your son. Then He says to the disciple, See, your mother. And from that hour, the disciple just mentioned took her to his own home.”
John knew exactly what Jesus said and meant.
Jesus, as first-born son, had an obligation to see that His mother was cared for. He chose the (present) disciple he loved to care for her as his own mother, transferring this heart felt obligation. It was also the language used in formal adoptions. Christ placed Mary under John’s authority as head of household.
“From that hour…” John “took her to *his own home*”
Anything more is not found in this passage or the rest of scripture.
Certainly nothing about Mary being anyone else’s mother.
The text makes it clear of the transaction that has happened.
After Jesus said, Behold, your mother.....the disciple took her into his own household.
The word given doesn't have to be in the text as anyone with an 8th grade reading level can/should understand what has happened in this passage.
