The Calvary Chapel Association is an evangelistic Protestant denomination founded by the Rev. Chuck Smith in 1965. It promotes a Bible- and Christ-centered theology and believes that Christians should interact with the culture and participate in politics to promote a Biblical world view. The Rev. Jack Hibbs of the Chino Hills, Calif. Calvary Chapel has even developed a smartphone app called Real Impact that addresses political and social concerns and provides resources.

Despite its name, Calvary Chapels tend to be "megachurches." Services feature contemporary "Praise" music and are usually packed, with many younger adults and families in attendance. There are a number of Calvary Chapels in California, where the denomination started, but I'm not sure about the rest of hte country.

hmm.. thanks - what is its theology? Basically, does it hold to the beliefs outlined in the Nicene Creed?
