By indwelling these complex human sensor mechanisms (like putting on a kind of suit if you will), aliens can not only see, hear, feel, and smell this planet, they can comprehend it with a vast array of emotions, drives/ambitions, fears, loves/hates, loyalties, betrayals, etc. And don't forget the sexual experience, which BTW seems to dominate much of the alien abduction experience.
As you mention, the aliens' lack of emotion makes this world seem flat to them. It is human emotions that bring it alive...and that is what they want. They want to co-exist inside of us so that they can share our passions (including compassion, sympathy, empathy) for life.
They want something we have that they don't have...life itself.
The human soul is anchored in the heart to give life to our physical bodies. It is where the masculine and feminine aspects of consciousness connect when two souls are in a relationship, and the reason for the heartache when they part.
The whole reason the weeds started Covid-19 through the CCP was to attack people’s hearts and split this connection, effectively taking away access to their logical aspect so they could move in and attach.

BTW, I think we've all come to realize, it doesn't take too much effort to fool the human race.
The opposite is also true. The closed mind of a human is almost impossible to open. And the biases of humans are almost impossible to dispel.

The evil one does "lying wonders" so knowing the Truth above (and all the rest found in that Book everyone has) is important. Those that don't know it already lie in his lap and must be rescued by the Lord Jesus Christ. That is why He came into the world..."to save sinners".

Jude, the half-brother of Jesus certainly thought so as did many others.
Jude 6: And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. I believe he is referring to the watchers, the fallen angels, who fathered the Nephilim of Genesis 6. The chains under darkness, refers to Tartarus, described as a dark abode of woe. I believe the watchers, who fathered the Nephilim, are not free, as other fallen angels are, but are locked up in Tartarus. Without actually looking it up, I think Peter also mentions Tartarus. Must be a horrible place.
By the way, my opinion is, when Jesus went to “preach” to spirits in prison, I think he went to Tartarus, and told the fallen angels that are locked up there, that their doom was sealed forever. I don’t think those fallen angels were very happy to hear that. The voice of condemnation, from Jesus, is probably still reverberating throughout Tartarus. Oh well, they made their choice.

I believe these are definitely fallen angels or demonic entities. It’ll all come to light one day.

The lesson of the muted response to COVID from the so-called right is that clearly things have not gotten bad enough.
The sad and terrifying thing is that whatever they must throw at us to elicit a righteous and unified policy response will now have to be so devastating that we will likely never have the political ability to fight it even if we wanted to.
Meanwhile, the vanity and political circus will continue unabated.
