Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

There was no doubt about it. Josh was my "Superstar" Student. It helped that , after six years of strict Classical Piano Lessons, he came to me at the age of twelve to learn how to play Jazz and Blues. His sight-reading skills were impeccable, so I wrote out hundreds of Jazz and Blues passages in notation, which later became a series of books, and a published compilation. But, although he was playing all the right notes, it still sounded like Classical Music. I knew that "The Blues" required some emotional component that could not be written down in notation.
When Josh was about 16, he was hospitalized with a life-threatening tumor. While he was in the hospital getting surgery on his brain, his BEST FRIEND stole his beloved teenage girlfriend whom he adored so much that he wrote a song about her! His heart was broken, as only a teenage heart could be. I prayed and prayed for him, and he survived the surgery, with few left-over symptoms. (He had to wait a few more years to get his drivers license due to aftereffects). Anyway, something happened to his music after the traumatic event. His music took on the most soulful and "Bluesey" quality that was astounding. I knew that there was nothing more I could teach him at that point, and before he was even old enough to legally drink alcohol, his Jazz Trio was playing in pubs all around S. Florida. Even though he was a better musician than I could ever be, I helped launch him, so I didn't mind. He always respected me though, and I was his producer and recording engineer for his first couple of CD's.
A teacher has to accept the fact that sometimes a student will be so talented that he will surpass his instructor. This should always be a cause for JOY rather than resentment, because it means that the teacher has done her job well.
John The Baptist had no problem "handing the reins" over to Jesus. He KNEW Who Jesus was, and was happy to have served as His forerunner.

Psalm 59
To the leader: Do Not Destroy. Of David. A Miktam, when Saul ordered his house to be watched in order to kill him.
1 Deliver me from my enemies, O my God;
protect me from those who rise up against me.
2 Deliver me from those who work evil;
from the bloodthirsty save me.
3 Even now they lie in wait for my life;
the mighty stir up strife against me.
For no transgression or sin of mine, O Lord,
4 for no fault of mine, they run and make ready.
Rouse yourself, come to my help and see!
5 You, Lord God of hosts, are God of Israel.
Awake to punish all the nations;
spare none of those who treacherously plot evil.
Selah
6 Each evening they come back,
howling like dogs
and prowling about the city.
7 There they are, bellowing with their mouths,
with sharp words* on their lips—
for ‘Who’, they think,* ‘will hear us?’
8 But you laugh at them, O Lord;
you hold all the nations in derision.
9 O my strength, I will watch for you;
for you, O God, are my fortress.
10 My God in his steadfast love will meet me;
my God will let me look in triumph on my enemies.
11 Do not kill them, or my people may forget;
make them totter by your power, and bring them down,
O Lord, our shield.
12 For the sin of their mouths, the words of their lips,
let them be trapped in their pride.
For the cursing and lies that they utter,
13 consume them in wrath;
consume them until they are no more.
Then it will be known to the ends of the earth
that God rules over Jacob.
Selah
14 Each evening they come back,
howling like dogs
and prowling about the city.
15 They roam about for food,
and growl if they do not get their fill.
16 But I will sing of your might;
I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been a fortress for me
and a refuge on the day of my distress.
17 O my strength, I will sing praises to you,
for you, O God, are my fortress,
the God who shows me steadfast love.

Amen
