I guess most people don’t look at the fossil record. A type of brachiopod is formed with certain spines on its shell. In the layer of rock above it, it is gone and replaced by one without spines but with some other sort of articulation. Then. In the next layer of rock above, it is gone and replaced by something with totally different articulation and so forth. Either there is evolution or God chose to create a vast array of different organisms and preserve them in the rock record to confuse us.
