"Might make right" may not be moral but I believe that it dominated human existence for hundreds of thousands of years.
I'm personally against that policy because I am only five foot nine with poor vision and little success at dominating others. Much human history reflects societies dominated by a few strong members at the expense of the weaker members.
Brain power has allowed those weaker members to invent a better system; at least as far as the welfare of those weaker members is concerned. Additionally, creating a society where brain power rules instead of muscle power has benefitted mankind enormously.
The evolutionary success of our societies is indicated by the fact that the earth now supports a human population exceeding six billion and many of those people live better lives than anybody expected just one or two hundred years ago. Also reflective of that success is the reduction of the number of people killed by wolves or grizzly bears, although there are segments of our population that view this negatively.

What has evolution to do with the success of society?
If you don’t believe in evolution, then … nothing.
If you do believe, then the evolved human brain has allowed humans to dominate every others species of animal on earth and created an environment of relative luxury for billions of people.
