Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Luke 20

The Parable of the Tenants

9 He went on to tell the people this parable: “A man planted a vineyard, rented it to some farmers and went away for a long time. 10 At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants so they would give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the tenants beat him and sent him away empty-handed. 11 He sent another servant, but that one also they beat and treated shamefully and sent away empty-handed. 12 He sent still a third, and they wounded him and threw him out.

13 “Then the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my son, whom I love; perhaps they will respect him.’

14 “But when the tenants saw him, they talked the matter over. ‘This is the heir,’ they said. ‘Let’s kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’ 15 So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.

“What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and kill those tenants and give the vineyard to others.”

When the people heard this, they said, “God forbid!”

17 Jesus looked directly at them and asked, “Then what is the meaning of that which is written:

“‘The stone the builders rejected
    has become the cornerstone’[a]?
18 Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.”

19 The teachers of the law and the chief priests looked for a way to arrest him immediately, because they knew he had spoken this parable against them. But they were afraid of the people.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
Magnified, Sanctified,
and Hallowed Be Your Most Holy and Glorious Name!
You Are So Holy and Worthy of Praise and Worship,
we are Overwhelmed by Your Glory!
It is You Who Have Made The Earth and All it Contains,
from the tiniest of Creatures,
to the Greatest of the Mountains, Forests and Deserts.
It is You Who Command the Motion of the Stars,
The Galaxies,
and the Great Singularities of Time and Space,
And it is You Who Create new Life in the Secret Place of a Mother's Womb.
Oh, Father, You Are So Wonderful,
So Glorious,
So Magnificent,
And Mere Words Don't even Tell The Story of Your Awesome Splendor!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

According to ads for "Title Insurance", it is now possible for people to find the Deed for your home on the Internet. These thieves are able to somehow transfer title of your property to themselves, and then take out loans based upon the equity that you worked so hard to build. Then, the evildoers default on the loan and the real homeowner finds himself in Foreclosure. Of course, there have always been people who steal real estate one way or another, but the job has become so much easier for them now that Public Records are stored Electronically.

My Nephew purchased a Two-Family Home, which came with a tenant already in place. The tenant had not paid rent since the change of ownership, and eviction proceedings had to be initiated. When the tenants were finally removed, my nephew found that they had trashed the entire interior of the apartment, including pouring cement down the toilet. All the plumbing had to be replaced. The evil tenant ended up costing a lot more than just lost rent.

These horror stories about tenants increase as a sense of entitlement replaces the old-fashioned work ethic of previous generations. Greed, Vengeance, Narcissism, and Selfishness have replaced all notions of Personal Responsibility and Honor. At least it seems that way.

However, Jesus shows us in this parable that, even without Electronic Public Records, Data Breaches, Government Regulations, and Banking Security, this kind of thing is the result of Human Nature, not Technology.

Some of Jesus's Parables left people scratching their heads. "What did He mean by that?" or "Who is He talking about?" must have troubled many. But THIS Parable needs no explanation. The Landlord is obviously God. The Wicked tenants are God's Chosen People, as represented by the Rulers, the Religious Officials, and the Teachers of the Law. The Messengers who go to collect the rent are the many Prophets and Teachers whom God, in His Mercy, sends to warn the people. Almost to a man, these Prophets had been mistreated by the very People they were sent to serve.

Then, the Landlord sends His Son, and the Tenants KILL Him. Then, to seal the deal, Jesus quotes from Scripture about the Chief Cornerstone who is rejected by the Builders. The Pharisees know instantly that Jesus is talking about THEM.

Near the Temple Mount by the Western Wall is a huge Stone. It is cut and beveled in the Herodian style which indicates that it is from the Second Temple Period. It has the look of a Cornerstone from the way it is shaped. However, it is not fixed into a wall, and looks as though it may have been rejected by the builders.

When the Temple was destroyed in 70AD, this stone wasn't involved because it had never been incorporated into the structure. So there it has sat for over 2000 years.

While its presence there might just be a coincidence or accident during the time of construction, it has become symbolic of the Scripture which somebody posted on the stone on a little sign:

“‘The stone the builders rejected
    has become the cornerstone’"

I am becoming more and more convinced that NOTHING is an accident.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH FOR
THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM!
And for the Preservation of the Valiant
Israeli Nation!

"The Son of the Vineyard"
James Tissot

=_HEN began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husband-
men, and went into a far country for a long time.
And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty.

And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.

And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out.

Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him.

But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.

So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them?

He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.

And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?

Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.

Amen, left that other site

Having been a landlord, we sold the rental and got out of that business. Too many deadbeat tenants that cost us.

Joining in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our beloved America.

Psalm 63

A Psalm of David, when he was in the Wilderness of Judah.

1 O God, you are my God, I seek you,
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
2 So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
beholding your power and glory.
3 Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
4 So I will bless you as long as I live;
I will lift up my hands and call on your name.

5 My soul is satisfied as with a rich feast,*
and my mouth praises you with joyful lips
6 when I think of you on my bed,
and meditate on you in the watches of the night;
7 for you have been my help,
and in the shadow of your wings I sing for joy.
8 My soul clings to you;
your right hand upholds me.

9 But those who seek to destroy my life
shall go down into the depths of the earth;
10 they shall be given over to the power of the sword,
they shall be prey for jackals.
11 But the king shall rejoice in God;
all who swear by him shall exult,
for the mouths of liars will be stopped.
