Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Luke 15

The Parable of the Lost Coin

8 “Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins[a] and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? 9 And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’ 10 In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Almighty Father
Magnified and Sanctified is Your Most Holy and Wonderful Name!
We Praise and Worship You and You Alone.
You Are The King of The Universe,
Our Creator,
Our Source,
Our Righteousness,
Our Desire,

Our Banner,
Our Healer,
And Our Provider!
There is None Other Like You;
You Alone Are Worthy of Praise, Honor,
Adoration, and Worship,
Which is Our Duty, and Pleasure, the Sacrifice of Our Lips.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

Long before Mediterranean Cuisine became popular, I was eating this wonderful, exotic, and healthy food. That's because I grew up in a neighborhood of Boston that had a large number of Greek and Middle-Eastern Immigrants, who were hardworking, independent entrepreneurs. Mediterranean Markets and Restaurants dotted our community, and I was introduced to Calamata Olives, Feta Cheese, Shish Kebab, and Hummus while the rest of Boston was still eating Meat and Potatoes, and of course, Lobster. Always the Lobster.

My best friend's Mom was from Beirut, which, at the time was such a beautiful city that it was called "The Paris of the Middle East".

I was delighted to be invited to a Dinner Party celebrating the arrival of relatives who had come to America from Lebanon, as pressures were brewing in Beirut that threatened to erupt into a Civil War. The refugees were very sophisticated, educated, and nice Christian people, and the Party was very elegant.

The Buffet Table groaned with delicacies, some of which even I had never seen before. I tried everything, even the raw kibbe (lamb), and it was awesome.

Suddenly, one of the guests cried out in dismay:

"Ayee Haram! The sapphire has fallen out of my ring! I got it just before I left Beirut! I'll never be able to replace it! Please help me find it!"

"Oh, it's probably right here on the carpet," her husband said.

We all looked down at the carpet. It was an 11' x 16' foot Oriental Rug with a very busy design, and it was sapphire blue. A stone of the same color would be impossible to find. Nevertheless, we all began to search.

We combed that rug with our eyes and fingertips, but it looked impossible. Then, my eye caught a tiny flash of light. I reached down and picked up the sapphire.

The joy and gratitude that filled the room with jubilation. Though I am hardly ever "The Life of the Party", I was that night.

The Parable of the Lost Coin, sandwiched between the Lost Sheep and the Prodigal Son, is a happy story that contains none of the grumpy Pharisees that we see in the others. Everybody seems genuinely happy for the woman that she found her lost coin. Ideally, this should have been the reaction of the 99, and the Elder Brother in the other two stories. When the Lost is Found, it is a time of Rejoicing, not jealousy. Sometimes, all it takes is a tiny flash of Light.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Psalm 17

A Prayer of David.

1 Hear a just cause, O Lord; attend to my cry;
give ear to my prayer from lips free of deceit.
2 From you let my vindication come;
let your eyes see the right.

3 If you try my heart, if you visit me by night,
if you test me, you will find no wickedness in me;
my mouth does not transgress.
4 As for what others do, by the word of your lips
I have avoided the ways of the violent.
5 My steps have held fast to your paths;
my feet have not slipped.

6 I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God;
incline your ear to me, hear my words.
7 Wondrously show your steadfast love,
O saviour of those who seek refuge
from their adversaries at your right hand.

8 Guard me as the apple of the eye;
hide me in the shadow of your wings,
9 from the wicked who despoil me,
my deadly enemies who surround me.
10 They close their hearts to pity;
with their mouths they speak arrogantly.
11 They track me down;* now they surround me;
they set their eyes to cast me to the ground.
12 They are like a lion eager to tear,
like a young lion lurking in ambush.

13 Rise up, O Lord, confront them, overthrow them!
By your sword deliver my life from the wicked,
14 from mortals—by your hand, O Lord—
from mortals whose portion in life is in this world.
May their bellies be filled with what you have stored up for them;
may their children have more than enough;
may they leave something over to their little ones.

15 As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness;
when I awake I shall be satisfied, beholding your likeness.

Great story!

And I have sapphires added to my wedding ring—it’s my birth stone.

Joining in prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem and for our beloved America.
