God does not close his ears six days a week. Nor is salvation based on which day of the week you gather to worship on. We just came off another thread about this which garnered over 600 posts.

In it we showed that Liberty from the Law of Moses was gained and preached by St Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles.
Others showed that the early Gentile church was worshiping on Sunday well before Constantine.
Keep Sunday? Not so! Those who worship on Saturday keep “the day”.
Those who gather on Sunday honor THE RESURRECTION, not the day.
THAT is the day! We who have accepted Christ’s once for all sacrifice on the Cross have entered HIS REST and no long have to work for our salvation. That is why the day of Resurrection is so important to CHRISTIANS.
Meanwhile, others are still laboring to save themselves by keeping certain days, the Law of Moses in order to show the world, “WE are doing it right! Dotting the i and crossing the t the right way in hopes of earning our salvation.”
Paul’s rebuff of Peter...Galatians 2
“knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the WORKS OF THE LAW shall NO FLESH be justified.
It says “family needs” and service can override the obligation. You had a need and the professionals in your case were doing a service. There is nothing wrong with the Church’s wisdom on this. After all, Catholic hospitals don’t shut on Sundays . You are perhaps trying to take umbrage where it is not necessary.
What on earth made you think I thought you were lying? Sheesh!
I just don’t like it when people set up straw man arguments about the Church and then say that’s why they don’t like the Church. Sheesh!
>>>Your authority?
Who started your “church” again?>>>>
Jesus the rock started my church. Jesus the rock. Not peter, who had a wife.....no, Jesus the ROCK started my church. You aren’t very studied when it comes to scripture but that’s ok. you got your catechism. It’s a big cult kind of. Bowing down to popes and confessing sins to humans......no thanks.
>>>Those who gather on Sunday honor THE RESURRECTION, not the day.>>>
Great, good for you. It’s a nice tradition. For the weekly HOLI day that God himself hallowed..for me, and put in the ten commandments and Jesus upheld and John saw and Paul said was holy just and good, and etc etc etc.....
Yeah....It’s God’s holy day.....the Sabbath and it’s for me.
You have pretty good traditions. I have the Bible. Thus saith the Lord. Thank u.
Jesus is our Sabbath rest. There is no longer a day set aside.
The problem with the shroud is the long hair. Jewish law called for men to keep their hair short and neat. Satan tries fooling everyone, but he always makes a mistake
Jesus was described as someone who didn’t look special. If Jesus had long hair, he would stick out like a sore thumb. The shroud is the work of Satan
I was looking at pics of Jesus' face on the shroud yesterday. Like you, I questioned whether the hair length on the image would be acceptable for a 1st century Jew. Some might argue that it's borderline.
>>>Jesus is our Sabbath rest. There is no longer a day set aside.>>>
Jesus isn’t the Sabbath. He made the Sabbath. Jesus was never made.
You people are funny how you twist things. Yet another who has done away with the Ten Commandments. All because of the 4th commandment.
“Leave the Church if you want, but not over a silly made-up falsity like yours.”
Your words, not mine. If I am wrong, ok, I’m wrong. I don’t agree with some of the things the Church teaches, but I certainly don’t want it to go away, either.
You told me I made this up. If I’m wrong, it’s out of ignorance, not subterfuge, and I resent you accusing me of that.
That’s why I reacted the way I did.
Matthew 7:1, for me as well as you.
The issue is not doing away with the 10 Commandments. The issue is what role do the 10 Commandment play in the life of a Christian.
If we believe that keeping the 10 Commandments saves us, we are mistaken. Any reading of the New Testament makes this perfectly clear.
When we see paintings of Jesus as a medieval European man with long light hair and blue eyes, do we view those obviously false depictions as the work of Satan?
The shroud, real or false, gives testament to Jesus' suffering and resurrection. I don't think it's a work of Satan any more than I believe the following painting is a work of Satan.

>>>>If we believe that keeping the 10 Commandments saves us, >>>>
It’as if you people don’t read what we are saying. NONE of the commandments saves us. Because I honor my parents doesn’t save me. Because I am faithful to my wife doesn’t save me. Because I honor the Sabbath doesn’t save me.
Jesus saves me. And because he saved me..I ought to obey him. I obey him because I AM saved....not to get saved. The only difference between us is I believe in obeying ALL 10 commandments because I am saved.
I don’t play the picky choosy game.
Your problem is you play the picky choosey when it comes to the Ten Commandments. And you think the Sabbath is a burden. Jesus didn’t make “burden” for man. He made the Sabbath for me to be blessed.
Sheesh......you people are bizarre. Not very scholarly on the Bible..but some kind of bizarre in your logic.
The “law” is the Standard of righteousness.....NOT THE METHOD. That’s why Paul said the “law” was holy just and good. It’s the standard! No law, no sin. How would you know what sin is?
Come on man......you can do better.
I have a bible, several in fact and they all say the same. “First day of the week”
Acts 20 KJV
7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
Douay-Rheims Bible, Acts of Apostles Chapter 20
7 And on the first day of the week, when we were assembled to break bread, Paul discoursed with them, being to depart on the morrow: and he continued his ...
1 Corinthians 16:2
King James Bible
Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
Young’s Literal Translation
The Collection for the Saints
1And concerning the collection that [is] for the saints, as I directed to the assemblies of Galatia, so also ye — do ye; 2on every first [day] of the week, let each one of you lay by him, treasuring up whatever he may have prospered, that when I may come then collections may not be made;
Douay-Rheims Bible
1 Now concerning the collections that are made for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, so do ye also. 2 On the first day of the week let every one of you put apart with himself, laying up what it shall well please him; that when I come, the collections be not then to be made.
Good enough for St Paul, it’s good enough for me.
***the Sabbath and it’s for me.***
Yet a quick look at Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance shows no mention of keeping a Sabbath until Exodus 16. That is a long time without mentioning or keeping a Sabbath.
Maybe the early Hebrews did not know of it till it was revealed to Moses and he wrote Genesis at the time of Exodus.
Now we honor Christ on Resurrection day.
Actually saint Paul says to hold fast to the traditions he taught his followers. Also read the 2nd chapter of James. You’ll see what Tradition means.
You presume to know my mind, convictions and beliefs. You don't! Referencing "you people is stereotyping. Not good! Not all Catholics agree with each other. Not all non-Catholics agree with each other. Let's agree to put the broad brush down.
NONE of the commandments saves us. - We agree.
Jesus saves me. - We agree.
Because he saved me..I ought to obey him. I obey him because I AM saved....not to get saved. - We agree.
I believe in obeying ALL 10 commandments because I am saved. - I strive to be led by the Word of God and the Holy Spirit. The Word includes the 10 Commandments, which show me that I am a sinner.
The “law” is the Standard of righteousness.....NOT THE METHOD. - I would say Jesus is my righteousness according to the Word of God and faith in Jesus the propitiation for my sin is the method.
As you see, we agree on many things.
