Should be self-evident that the phrase “evolutionary theist” is oxymoronic.

Thomas Aquinas and Augustine believed in evolution so that is good enough for me

Evolution is compatible with Genesis.

* In the beginning the universe was void and without form - Sounds like the singularity, within which even the laws of physics did not exist (i.e., without form).

* And God said, "Let there be light." -- The Big Bang.

* And then an Earth covered with water, then plant life, then animal life, then humans. -- Which is how evolution is said to have progressed.

* Finally, a thousand years is as a day to God. So billions of years of evolution could be six days to God.

Darwin said his theory only works as long as every part of every complex biological system could be broken into small parts that could have each evolved over time. A system that could not be divided without losing its benefits was called Irreducibly Complex. Such a system invalidated Evolutionary theory.

DNA is Irreducibly Complex. It invalidates evolutionary theory. Evolutionary biologists don’t even have any legitimate suggestions on how it could have evolved.

I know a man who said the bible was written by man..thus was not infallible.

God took him to see heaven. When the imaginary place becomes real... all doubt disappears. Not everyone gets to see ..Jesus said blessed are they who have not seen, yet believe

It takes a lot more faith to believe in evolution than it does to believe in an all powerful Creator.

The complete “geologic column” doesn’t exist in it’s entirety anywhere in the world.

There are literally millions of reasons why Darwin’s evolutionary theory is virtually or literally impossible.

The statistical probability (i.e., unlikelihood) of evolution occurring is staggering. Just one example is good enough for me: what are the odds that bees just happened to evolve at the exact same time as all the plant species that require their existence for pollination?

The same forces of “natural selection” that supposedly advance the process would kill any specimen that was in the process of attempting to evolve a new appendage or organ or whatever.

Even Darwin himself suggested a test for his theory that fails empirical evidence: the sudden appearance of new species.

It seems silly to me to believe in a God who can create life but is incapable of creating it in the literal way described in his word.

The fact that there hasn’t been a single evolutionary advancement in all of recorded history (no new species have appeared while many have become extinct) is another nail in Darwin’s theory’s coffin.

I will return to the Jesus versus Moses issue:

The evidence for the historical Jesus is now overwhelming. Manuscripts, including fragments, numbering in the tens of thousand trace back to the first century. To be sure, what we have in terms of a complete Bible (or, Codex) is a copy of a copy of a copy, but we have (individually-incomplete) manuscripts that are pretty close to the original.

Plus, the story of Jesus and the early church as told in the Gospels, Acts and the Epistles is validated by history and archeology in many date, places and persons (and not contradicted in any place).

Turning to Moses, we’re talking of approx. 1500 BC. The oldest manuscript evidence (the Dead Sea scrolls) validate that the Jewish scriptures were faithfully reproduced since the first century BC or thereabouts to the present. But, the Dead Sea scrolls leaves the time from Moses to Christ unaccounted. And, there is little hope for discovery of yet older manuscripts.

What we have to validate the Old Testament can be summarized as two types: (1) archeology and (2) science. Dozens of dates, places and persons mentioned in the Old Testament have been validated by archeology; e.g., inscriptions on statues. And, the history of the cosmos and life on earth accords well with the stories found in Genesis and also in Job.

No religion other than Judaism teaches that time, space, matter and energy begin in a singular event that we call the Big Bang; or, that we live in an expanding universe; or, that the earth is a ball suspended in space. The more that we study the cosmos the more amazing is the adherence of the Bible story with science. Well, if you read the Bible story with an open mind, as opposed to thinking that we always knew what the words mean. We couldn’t possibly have known what the words mean until recently. And, this is a proof that whoever wrote the Old Testament had to be inspired by God.

As to evolution, it was a Muslim scholar, Ibn Kaldun, who noticed that the Bible’s story is one of evolution. God, he said, could easily have made man out of nothing; but, instead he made out of the soil of the earth. The key to evolution is that God intervened in history and breathed his spirit into us.

And he does that with each human child. We are, each one of us, miracles.

Praise be to God!

It would have been enough for him to reveal himself through the beauty of his creation, but instead he revealed himself through the special revelation of the Bible.

It would have been enough for us to rely on his nature as a loving God to know that all we need to do is ask him for mercy, but instead he sent us his son, Jesus, the Messiah, so that we could be assured of salvation.

Blessed are those who, living in these times, have the evidence of the validity of the Bible, and believe. More blessed are those who, coming before us who, without the evidence we have, believed.

Imagine if in addition to Moses and Elias, Adam also appeared during Jesus’ Transfiguration. Who would then dare to question his role as direct progenitor of all humans on earth?
