12,000 STADIA in length, width and height. A cube.
The actual length of a Roman era ‘STADE’ (singular) is unknown, and estimates can vary from 150 to 200 yards +/- 10 yards............
This subject sparked the artists’ imaginations, as well it should.
I expect you’re familiar with that massive series of tapestries, Alba, most of which survive. I considered doing a thread showing all of them, but finally I decided against it.
“I Go to Prepare a Place for YOU!”
FRiend.
Hugh Ross divided its volume by a realistic population estimate (several tens of billions) and concluded each person would have enough space for two eighteen-hole championship golf courses.
I don’t play golf, nor have I ever, but it would make a fantastic Dirt Bike trail!................
Some interesting works today. I liked 26 because it is an odd way to depict the New City, not sure how accurate.
Oral Tradition physically places the
New Jerusalem immediately above
The Old City.
Yes, I well remember your lone driving range escapade..............................
Jesus is our new landlord.
Putt-Putt is more my speed..................I live within walking distance of one...............
Nowhere does the text specify the size, or even the shape, of the new earth.
A man should know his limitations...............
This is my 'range'...............

I think it was done that way just to show perspective on the possible size of New Jerusalem as compared to the USA, since most Americans can relate to that map..............
The verses and painting today remind me of something I have not listened to in some years. That would be Jimmy Swaggart performing the song “There Is A City”. Don’t much care for his theology but nobody is better at “”boogy woogie gospel” than him. Will bring it up on computer and listen this evening.
Is this it? Looking for a City
Yes that’s it. I had title wrong, I guess it has been longer than I thought since I heard it. Thanks for the link.
Maybe you can do “Bible in Music” when you complete “Bible in Paintings”.
