Why are there women in that Pentecost picture? Good question. We are told in Acts 1 that in the 9 days preceding Pentecost, 120 of the disciples gathered together in prayer in the upper room. These included some women and Mary, the mother of Jesus:
All these with one accord devoted themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. (Acts 1:4)
