I knew a pastor that believed what this satire is saying. Somehow the virgin birth, crucifixion and resurrection had more meaning as stories rather than being the truth of what actually happened. A "mainstream" protestant church no less.

It doesn’t surprise me that it would be out of a mainstream Protestant denomination. They gave up on the Truth decades ago.
