Sadduces and Pharisees were never in the habit of taking personal responsibility for their own stupid choices and vices, so when they wanted Jesus Christ to die, He had to be the scapegoat. He had to deserve death. So His accusers simply threw the filth of invented, perverted charges upon Him. There was no truth in any of the charges, yet they satisfied the murderous rage of the mindless mob, who like our Lords’ accusers, lusted for His death.

In sum, the situation described by Michael Lesher mirrors the conditions leading up to our Lords crucifixion. But this time the scapegoats will be us, meaning Pres. Trump, and all Constitution supporting Christians and Conservatives. Our accusers will cast upon us the filth of invented, perverted charges. It will be this false guilt that will make us deserving of whatever punishment will satisfy our accusers and the mob.
