God is still in ultimate control. Now is the time to put our complete trust in Him. And keep pushing on with what He wants of us. It's all good!
Also, very true! All one needs to do is study the history of the Jews (and their country) and the bible to see there are consequences for not heeding His words and for breaking His covenants.
2nd Chronicles 7:14

Not too many of us left in this country who are humble or seem to be turning from their wicked ways. In fact, it's just the opposite! Guess what's next?

I’m pretty sure His reference was to the 7 year tribulation. His 1000 year reign afterwards will be in peace... no wars.
The last 7 years is still included in the previous about 1,993 years...
About 2,000 swine that Legion entered and became about 2,000 demon possessed swine..
The about 2,000 years of the Church Age described as unclean doctrines of demons not to be eaten or touched..
It could be argued, there’s been about 2,000 years of tribulation in the world..
But He instructed His Disciples to be of good cheer, for He overcomes the world..
