I would suggest, for discussion, the only political/social figure that might be labeled ‘progressive’, would be the late President Theodore Roosevelt.
In light of the current morass, I prefer to utilize the label ‘radical extreme leftist’.
Fomenting violence, violent speech, with the desired outcome to exact said violence “upon them”, rails against all forms of open socratic and democratic discussions, which are protected under Constitutional Amendments.
In current times, a minority of considerable abhorrence, has decided that “they” must be accepted as part of “normal” societal affairs, and any response to the opposite “must” be deemed inappropriate, at best, and violence meted out at worst.
It is IMHO, that this minority is incorrect, in its choice to jump the burdles of worthy ponderances, and move directly to the world of violence,committing innocent souls to the hereafter, demonstrating their vehement hatred.
