Having people die at a 19th century boarding school is a little different than killing them. Your phrasing, which admittedly is the popular phrasing, distorts somewhere between 98 and 100% of the deaths.

And it was government policy carried out with the help of the Churches, not Church policy carried out with the help of the government.

Aho! Hou need to talk to some of the people who were taken from their homes and forced to go to the schools, forced to s[eal English, under threat of ourporal punishment, solitary isolation and meal starvation. Some of the teenaged girls were impregnated by the priests at these schools, and the nuns burned the babies when they were born, thrown into the wood furnace at birth.

There is a reason that churches are taking a 50% rise in violence across Canada. And this is the reason.

Hundreds of children’s graves were found at these school sites with ground penetrating radar, many in unmarked graves, over the last three years.
