Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Mark 14

Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial

27 “You will all fall away,” Jesus told them, “for it is written:

“‘I will strike the shepherd,
and the sheep will be scattered.’[d]

28 But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”

29 Peter declared, “Even if all fall away, I will not.”

30 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “today—yes, tonight—before the rooster crows twice[e] you yourself will disown me three times.”

31 But Peter insisted emphatically, “Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the others said the same.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
How Excellent,
How Holy,
How Majestic is Your Most Wonderful Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Praise and Worship,
For You Are Our Creator,
and The Creator of All That Is!
Omnipotent,
Omniscient,
and Omnipresent,
You Are The One True God,
The Great I AM,
The Ancient Of Days,
Our All-In-All!

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

God Bless America.

The Passover Seder can take over four hours to perform. Most Handbooks for a Seder (called a Haggadah) outline an Opening prayer, a series of questions and answers, blessings over the bread and wine, the teaching of the Story in Exodus, the sharing of symbolic foods, and readings from the Scriptures. A whole section of the Book of Psalms is sung (The Hallel), and there are traditional folk songs sung as well. ("Dayenu" and "Had Gad Ya" for example) The main purpose of the Seder, which has taken 3000 years to evolve, is to commemorate the Deliverance of Israel from slavery in Egypt, and to teach the story to the next generation. There is a Biblical command to do this every year, but the Bible doesn't provide an order of service. Unfortunately, this lack of a fixed "Liturgy" has resulted in some very strange and "progressive" (quotes intended) Haggadahs. In the last 50 years, I have seen "Black" Haggadahs, "Green" Haggadahs, "Revolutionary" Haggadahs, "LBGT" Haggadahs, "Feminist" Haggadahs, "Liberation Theology" Haggadahs, and "Ecumenical" Haggadahs.

From the depiction of the Last Supper in the Gospels, we can infer that there was already some kind of Haggadah in place when Jesus ate the Passover with His disciples. The Blessings over the Bread and Wine (which became Christian Communion), the teaching and conversation, the breaking and sharing of Unleavened Bread, and the singing of Hymns (probably Psalms), all sound familiar to anyone who has attended a Seder. As Jesus and His disciples commemorated the Deliverance for Slavery, they also looked ahead to Deliverance from the Slavery of Sin. The Innocent Passover Lamb that was slain to protect the Children of Israel from the Angel of Death would be Personified the very next afternoon on Calvary.

Today is the First Day of Holy Week as practiced by the Western Branch of Christendom. Wednesday is the First Night of Passover for our Jewish FRiends. They don't always line up like this, but this year they do.

All four Gospels depict The Last Supper, but they all contain different details, that, put together the whole evening for us. I am willing to bet that The Last Supper took HOURS, with all the Praying, Teaching, Singing, Discussing, Eating, Story-Telling, and Prophesying. The Gospel of John even includes Jesus washing His disciple's feet(John 13), and a long, personal prayer between Jesus and His Father in Heaven(John 17). And, as John was famous for saying, "... there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written.(John 21:25 KJV)

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification." (Romans 4:25)

God Bless America.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Amen !!! <><

Psalm 54

To the leader: with stringed instruments. A Maskil of David, when the Ziphites went and told Saul, ‘David is in hiding among us.’

1 Save me, O God, by your name,
and vindicate me by your might.
2 Hear my prayer, O God;
give ear to the words of my mouth.

3 For the insolent have risen against me,
the ruthless seek my life;
they do not set God before them.
Selah

4 But surely, God is my helper;
the Lord is the upholder of* my life.
5 He will repay my enemies for their evil.
In your faithfulness, put an end to them.

6 With a freewill-offering I will sacrifice to you;
I will give thanks to your name, O Lord, for it is good.
7 For he has delivered me from every trouble,
