n our time Christian church throughout Western civilization, the former Christendom, and the former Protestant America, is withering away and breaking apart in raging apocalyptic winds of nihilism.
Nihilism can be seen in the shrugging of shoulders and heard in expressions such as “who cares?’ “so what?” or “what’s that to me?”
Nihilism is a condition of soul. It emerges from the labyrinth of disordered and evil passions in the fallen souls of mankind when there is no fear of God, thus, no transcendent Authority, Immutable Truth, Absolute moral Law, or meaning and purpose for human life since in the absence of God all truth is individually sovereign hence relative.

yeah, ‘what’s it to me what happens in Ukraine?’
‘not my problem’
‘who cares?’
I see it here every day
I come from a very religious family. However, even as a child, I was never religious, primarily because I have never been a man of faith, and also because I am completely engaged in this life.
I have been a political Conservative my entire life, and when push comes to shove, I will always line up with the Lutherans, the Evangelicals, and the Jewish Conservatives.
I have never been unhappy, with two exceptions - during periods of financial stress, and, during periods when a couple of long term relationships fell apart.
I am rapidly approaching the average age of death in the USA, but I do not fear it, unless my death is preceded by years of disability and decline.
If I find myself standing before God's judgment, I will bluntly tell Him that I never signed a contract requesting to be born, and that I never signed a contract to worship Him or obey his Commandments.
If I find myself facing eternal damnation, I will accept that with the same quiet courage I have accepted every other challenge in my life.
Appropo of nothing, but if you signed a contract with God (re: your birth), it would be before you were born and therefore you wouldn't remember it (unless you can remember things that happened prior to your birth).
As said, I am not disagreeing with you about any contract, just adding that your statement is illogical.
I have pondered the issue you mention above (about contracts and the like). Sometimes I get the distinct sense that I might have agreed to some kind of mission here on Earth before my arrival (i.e., before being born). Just a sense of course...nothing evidential.
I bet when we find ourselves before God we’ll do a lot more listening than talking.
I was trying to keep my little essay as simple as possible.
I attach the concept of Free Will to a written contract.
Obviously, a helpless infant cannot sign or understand a written contract, which means that God can NEVER claim that humans have Free Will.
On the flip side, if my 70+ year old self was asked by God to sign a contract to return to life as an infant, I would flat out refuse.
I would refuse because I do not want to be eternally damned, and I do not want to be born in a poor country, or born to abusive or neglectful parents, or suffer life changing injuries or illness as a young person.
Since I am a non-believer, I know exactly what God's verdict is going be on me.
I will tell Him exactly what I think about his completely bogus claim that I had Free Will.
I will repeat what I said.
You wouldn't have signed the contract as a helpless infant. You would a signed a contract BEFORE BIRTH (i.e., your pre-birth soul would have signed a contract). Unless you can remember things before your birth, you have no idea whether you signed a contract or not. And you have no idea what the reasons might be for signing said contract.
Your pre-birth soul would have signed it.
My pre-birth soul would be as smart or smarter than I am today.
I would never accept the risk of eternal damnation or the high risk that my physical life would be very unpleasant.
I will choose to sleep, or not exist - forever and ever.
I take it you said the same thing to your parents?
No - my parents were very nice people.
They never demanded that I worship them. Or, threatened eternal damnation.
Er, that's what I said. Sheesh.
You have no idea what kind of realm and reality your pre-birth soul lived in or why it might have signed such a contract.
Forget I said anything. It's too early to deal with such illogic.
You have invented a pre-birth soul that makes absolutely binding contractual obligations for your physical existence and your mortal soul.
That is not Free Will.
Unless your pre-birth soul is going to go Hell with your mortal soul, your pre-birth soul has NO skin in this game.
My physical self never gave my pre-birth soul the right to contract ANYTHING on behalf of my mortal soul.
Does the creature owe the Creator anything? People aren't threatened with damnation, they're warned about it; but damnation is chosen, not meted out.
As far as preexistence is concerned, God told the prophet Jeremiah, "Before I formed you in your mother's womb I knew you." I don't believe Jeremiah was special in that regard. We have no idea what went on prior to our physical birth.

Sunlight apparently repels these folks like nothing else. The bad news buffet is all they know and serve, otherwise some poor saps out there might stumble upon (or gasp, even create) a reason to smile, laugh, and then be able to persevere and move forward with their God-given talents and mission in this life.
If the toxic turkeys had any idea what they were doing -- any clue whatsoever -- they sure wouldn't be doing that.
It's the soul and spirit of that type of business. Watch 'em be gobsmacked to hear, "I never knew you."
Pretty much no getting through to those who are convinced that daily demoralization (killing souls) is doing God's work. But just perhaps someone might read this and snap awake to what's being done to you in the good name of Lord, and then escape the darkness before it's too late. There's always hope.
Matthew 1232 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
In stark contrast to the glass half empty sucked completely dry trolls-camped-out-under-the-bridge, the Messiah lives on the Sunnyside, because that's how *he* rolls. Those who follow his way have the faith to stand up and walk, and trample right over the dead spirits trying to drag good folks down to their miserable level.
The prophets sternly warned, all right.
Resist the devil and he will flee from you. His pearl-clutching little whiners will cry bloody murder when their pointy, accusing fingers are stepped on. Too bad, so sad.
Keep on the Sunnyside! ~ Johnny Cash
Isaiah 40:3As for zeestephen, it's not a contract in the usual sense, it's the best life and light ever. You can see why certain types don't want people to know. Basically the entire established world of worthless, Can't-Do people will do anything and everything to block the light and life.
The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
God told Abram to come along to see the land He had in mind, and God's friend bolted right out the door for the Far Side. For one thing, he was going to learn the *real* reason the dinosaurs became extinct, and also just what kind of geniuses attend Midvale School for the Gifted.
The word in certain circles is that it's really really bad when secular institutions demand conformity and insist that there's truth in consensus, yet somehow it's perfectly a-okay when the "correct" religion does it. Because... settled doctrines! And then people wonder why particularly tenacious demons can't be cast out, and why idolatry reigns supreme. It's the simple meaning!
Epic fail. I'm so on to that scam.
A people who make lemonade out of lemons can't be cursed because they recognize the blessing of all the free ingredients thrown their way. Lucky!
“yeah, ‘what’s it to me what happens in Ukraine?’”
Ukraine is a symptom of what ails Western Civilization.
We have idiots like Lindsay Graham calling for Nuclear war, and here you are, like a one-trick pony trying to turn Ukraine into some kind of holy quest.
You are the figurative woke pink-haired tranny that is part of the problem
Only if there is a signed contract between equals.
No contract - No Free Will.
I never asked to be created.
My birth was a completely arbitrary decision by the Creator.
Even worse, the Creator is omniscient.
The Creator was fully aware that my soul was going to Hell when He created me.
Another great article from Patriot and Liberty. Tnanks for posting. The writer gets to the heart of the affliction now set upon this Nation - the arrogance of His people who have substituted the false god Wokism for God’s Word. God’s people (many) have abandoned Him. Lest nihilist fools believe there will be no repercussions for their misadventure, they need to read God’s message to Moses with respect to the punishment He will mete out to the Israelites if they stray from His Word. As the Lord points out they have a choice, so they should choose wisely. The carrot and stick warning is found in Leviticus 26.
You are projecting your present human mindset and experiences onto a soul (your soul) before it ever arrived into this world. That's illogical.
It's similar to (but in reverse) a child saying, "as an adult, I would never be tempted that that woman or that way of life or I would never do such and such."
Bottom line: you have no comprehension of what your pre-birth soul would or would not do any more than as a child you could have predicted what your adult self will do.
It’s the oldest story of the world, it’s amazing that people are bewildered by it. You set God first, things go well, then people get complacent and worship other things, then society falls, then eventually people turn their eyes back to God...
