The cigars probably didn’t help but he was a heavy cigarette smoker when he was younger. Possible the seeds of his lung cancer were planted earlier in his life.

Once after his diagnosis he out of habit said his often repeated phrase: "...that I'm holding here in my formerly nicotine stained fingers...".

I can agree with David. I’ve read about his faith conversion in one of his books. I forget which one.

His descriptions about his faith (David) were REAL.

Rush, on the other hand, was never “born again” in my opinion until very late in his (Rush) life.

If David says he believes Rush became a Christian before his death, I believe him.

Also I could notice a change in Rush’s expressions on faith. It certainly appeared to me that he had accepted the free gift of salvation.

Of course, ONLY God knows for sure.

Listening to Rush and Paul Harvey was like a lifeline to the way things used to be. I’ve been very disappointed with the people who replaced them, some frat bros named Claye and Buck. They have no depth or knowledge and the humor is sophomoric.

Rush can never be replaced, his shoes were two big for even two "replacements". They should've retired the show, or hired Mark Steyne (SP).

I agree on both counts. Steyn is a showman, just like Rush was. No one else in talk radio has that showmanship except maybe Savage, whose accent is just so hard to listen to.

Rush had a much better voice besides the things he said as well. Levin sounds like he’s on helium. Hannity has that annoying New York accent and is a shill. Eric Metaxas sounds like a guy getting stuffed in a locker. Charlie Kirk sounds like a surfer dude.

I never really realized just how unique Rush was while he was alive. RIP.
