Listening to Rush and Paul Harvey was like a lifeline to the way things used to be. I’ve been very disappointed with the people who replaced them, some frat bros named Claye and Buck. They have no depth or knowledge and the humor is sophomoric.
What you said....
Rush can never be replaced, his shoes were two big for even two "replacements". They should've retired the show, or hired Mark Steyne (SP).
Rush and Paul Harvey were irreplaceable. I listened to Paul Harvey’s noonday broadcasts every day as a kid; Mom would have him on and he quickly became a familiar voice in my life. Later on, he started with “The Rest of the Story”.
I still have his print versions somewhere.
And then I was turned on to Rush just before the First Gulf War. I listened to him religiously for over ten years, then switched jobs, and couldn’t listen at work anymore. I have both of Rush’s books, and I hope one day my kids will have the good sense to pick them up and read them.
Paul Harvey’s “Good Day” still resonates with me.
Those were the days…
