Why did we fight the Cold War? This is a real question. For what did the millions of Americans who served in the armed forces from 1947 to 1990 serve for? Is shame and remorse what any traditional American should feel towards their government?

Yep, and the “serfs” are so ignorant they will not be aware of their enslavement until they become targets of violence. And of course, by then it will be way too late to save themselves. Think of the victims of the Holocaust riding the freight trains to the gas chambers, oblivious to their fate!

Yeah, well; the churches where it is celebrated are few and far between. And none are close to where I live. So, since it has pretty much been exiled to the hinterlands, it has — in your metaphorical description — been driven back to the catacombs. And here in the US priests who insist on saying the Latin Mass are threatened by the Vatican. Francis is the worst pope in my lifetime (I am in my 70s).

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I’ll hit 82 this coming August. As with you there are no traditional Masses offered closer than a hundred miles away from my home, so I attend only when I am away and there’s a Latin Mass community in the vicinity. Have a close friend, retired FBI, who sold his home and moved to Florida to be an active member of St. Thomas More Church, and SSPX parish in Sanford. When I visit him, attending Mass there is great blessing to me. When I’m home on Sundays I read the Mass in my St. Joseph Daily Missal, published in 1959, the year I graduated from high school.

Yes. After the passing of Queen Elizabeth I read several articles that touched on the diminished influence of the COE in the UK and elsewhere. Sad. Recently I began reading books by the English author Julian Barnes, a self-professed Agnostic who ironically laments that fact as well.
I've always read that as a way to deal with peoples petty insults. People are full of petty insults. If we 'killed' everyone that throws an insult our way, the world would be a lonely place. Tyrants and others that openly wish US harm, kill 'em. That would make the world a better place.
