At other times Francis has railed against rigidity and legalism, and gives the charism of “discernment” a wide berth.
Cardinal Roche has his interpretation, in his diocese, a bishop can exercise his own for the good of souls.
Roche is such a deplorable, despicable roach.
Some explanation, please?
It means that those Catholics who have become accustomed to the Latin Mass and its attendant Catholic spirituality that was reinvigorated under Popes John Paul II and Benedict XIV are to be herded onto the Novus Ordo reservation where outright heresy and perversion reins. These Catholics are to be sacrificed on the altar of “wokeness” and “inclusion” so beloved by the Lavendar Mafia.
It means millions upon millions of dollars of donations made by the faithful to renovate modernized churches, purchase and build new churches for the greater glory of God was all for naught, to be confiscated by the Conciliar Church.
It means Francis—who styles himself so humble and merciful—is anything but. It means Catholics who would be Catholics are no longer to be tolerated in the Catholic Church.
Thank you. Those things I already know.
If you know what “Canon 87” is all about, then maybe you can tell me something I DON’T know.
Thanks!
Canon 87 states that the bishop of his diocese is competent to dispense from specific liturgical laws enacted by the pope if it is for the spiritual good of his people. In this case, several American bishops, including my own here in Oklahoma, have determined that allowing the Latin Mass and the other sacraments to be done in the old rite is a positive spiritual good in their diocese, so they permit their continuance despite the motu proprio Traditionis Custodes which restricted them generally.
Cardinal Roche’s letter is now saying that these bishops are mistaken and do not have that authority to so dispense under Canon 87. These bishops are now considering whether to concede the point or to fight it under canon law.
Hope this helps make it more clear.
Thank you. That’s the part that I didn’t understand.
And for some reason, the images of the letter never showed up in my browser ... until now.
Most peculiar.
