I plan to post about 11 Bible verses (or passages) that give we Christians great comfort for the soul when it comes our time to actually experience the death of our present physical bodies.
I hope you, the reader, will add your thoughts and/or any of your fave Bible verses that relate to the Death Of Christians.

"If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord." Romans 14:8
And THAT is win-win.

The Death Of Lazarus
"Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. John 11:23-26

"The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death." Isaiah 57:1-2

"I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.
“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Cor. 15:50-57

To the thief on the cross: "Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:43
My interpretation: The word paradise is another word for Heaven.

"For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands" 2 Cor.5:1

Absent From The Body Is To Be At Home With The Lord:
"We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it." 2 Cor 5:8-9 ___________________________________________ When We Christians Die, We Gain. We Lose Nothing Of Permanent Value. "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." Philippians 1:21

"I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far" Philippians 1:23

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants." Psalms 116:15 NIV
"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." Psalms 116:15 KJV

Thank you, very nice compilation.
“After this it was noised abroad that Mr. Valiant-for-truth was
taken with a summons, by the same post as the other; and had
this for a token that the summons was true, “That his pitcher was
broken at the fountain.”
When he understood it, he called for his friends, and told them of it.
Then, said he, I am going to my Father’s; and though with great
difficulty I have got hither, yet now I do not repent me of all the
trouble I have been at to arrive where I am.
My sword I give to him that shall succeed me in my pilgrimage,
and my courage and skill to him that can get it.
My marks and scars I carry with me, to be a witness for me that I
have fought His battles who will now be my rewarder.
When the day that he must go hence was come, many accompanied
him to the river-side, into which as he went, he said, “Death, where
is thy sting?”
And as he went down deeper, he said, “Grave, where is thy victory?”
So he passed over, and all the trumpets sounded for him on the other side.
... John Bunyan (1628-1688), The Pilgrim’s Progress [1678]
(Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.)
May it happen soon before Chairman Jao and Emperor Palpatine Balak do any more damage.

Luke 21:34-35
For us, death has ALREADY passed.
[D]o you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death. Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.Romans 6:3-9.For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin.
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more.
The INSTANT we said "Yes" to Christ, we were put into Christ by the operation of God. That means by the operation of God, WE INSTANTLY DIED WITH JESUS AND WE ALSO ROSE WITH HIM BECAUSE WE WERE PUT IN HIM.
That's what it means to be "born again". We died with him and were born again with him at his resurrection into HIS newness of life. We are NEVER to be afraid of death EVER again!!
THAT's wonderful EXTRA good news!!!
Have you not read that we are now seated with the risen Lord in the heavenlies? (Eph. 2:6). That's because we are in Christ. Only God could do this.
We have already died. God delivered us from death and the fear of death just like he said he would.
[T]hat through death he might destroy him that had [but no longer has] the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.Heb. 2:25-25.
We are not under bondage but under his amazing grace and the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free (Gal. 5:1).
Death is behind us. Ahead of us is resting and flowing in his finished works here on earth and at some point becoming absent from our body and being present with the Lord. That will either happen corporately (corporate "rapture") or individually (individual "rapture") if we go to be with the Lord beforehand. Death is behind us and rapture and joy unspeakable and full of glory is our destiny.
Rejoice!
God bless.
Additional note:
“Baptism (”immersion”) in Christ” is not baptism in water but upon our permission by receiving Christ, God immersing us into His Son forever.
Thank you very much.
“Baptism (”immersion”) in Christ” is not baptism in water but upon our permission by receiving Christ, God immersing us into His Son forever
—————————————————
I’m not sure what this means, but I am sure that one cannot receive Christ without being immersed in water baptism into his death, burial, and resurrection.
“Whoever calls on the Lord will be saved.” Rom. 10:13.
Being saved is the simplest thing in the world because Jesus did all the heavy lifting (we could NEVER save ourselves).
We know we’re saved, but what actually happens when we receive Jesus can take us years to understand. In fact the Bible says it will take us the ages to come to grasp.
“That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:7.
One of the most important things we don’t necessarily immediately grasp but need to at some point in order to live a victorious life is that the instant we receive Christ, the operation of God put us into Jesus’ death and resurrection so that death is eternally behind us and life is eternally ours.
Again, to be clear, all we need is Jesus to be saved. We don’t have to know any of that other stuff to be saved. That comes later.
The other stuff is to help us live a victorious Christian life. But once we have Jesus, we are in God’s fold forever.
Correct. And as you know - it is useless to call on the name of the Lord if you ignore his commands to be baptized. And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.’ Acts 22:16
Again, to be clear, all we need is Jesus to be saved. We don’t have to know any of that other stuff to be saved. That comes later.
Really? We don't need to know we are lost? That we need to repent and be baptized as per Acts 2:38? That we don't need to confess Christ is Lord? Romans 10:9
Thoughout the Bible there are many, many commands to be baptized. Starting with the command of Christ in Matthew 28:16.
Do not ignore the commands to be baptized, and do not ignore than many many examples either. No where do we see anyone saved who was not also baptized. No one.
So why do so many preach and teach a baptism is not necessary for salvation? One cannot be saved unless one is baptized for the forgiveness of sins.
We don’t have to know any of that other stuff to be saved. That comes later. Wrong. You need to know it before, during, and after baptism. If you don't - then you are only fooling yourself.
I didn't.
“Whoever calls on the Lord will be saved.” Rom. 10:13. Scripture.
I didn't know anything other than I needed Jesus and i was wonderfully and magnificently saved. Experience. 50+ years worth.
Don't add man's fleshly requirements to God's word. We are saved by grace through faith, not by any effort from us. Otherwise you are preaching another gospel which is twice cursed in scripture (Galatians 1:6-9).
I get what you’re saying. I get that you think one cannot be saved by works.
Works like repenting, confessing, baptism. And even calling is a work. So how can you focus on Romans 10:13 as a ticket to Heaven if that is a work?
And if you believe Romans 10:13 is all you need “to be saved”, then why do you not believe Romans 10:9? It says that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord you also “will be saved.”
You don’t believe that? You cannot be saved unless you confess, repent, be baptized and live a godly life.
Yes, I know all of these are works, but get over it. These are COMMANDS.
And one more thing. Read this outline. It will clear up your confusion that repentance, confession, baptism are works; therefore they can be ignored.

[Y]ou are not under the law, but under grace. Romans 6:14.
Obedience to commands does not save you because we are not under the law (Hebrews 8:12, 10:17).
bkmk
I went to a very secular funeral a couple days ago, even though it was presided over by a Presbyterian minister. Not sure why, but Jesus and Heaven never came up. It was basically tribute remarks and a slide show. I’m sure as Christians we can have more to say about hope, eternity, and Heavenly reunion with God and all the faithful departed. Perhaps the departed was not Christian, but even then we must commend him to the Lord’s mercy. Sad.
And you let this sink in.
You are cherry picking. Meaning you are selectively picking and choosing what commands of God you choose to accept. Or deny.
And when it comes to fundamental basic doctrines of salvation such as the essential command to be baptized, and you deny that - you will stand before the throne of God someday to give an answer.
Consider Rev. 22:18-19. For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
[Y]ou are not under the law, but under grace (Romans 6:14) is God’s Word my friend and it is straightforward and clear.
You want to add your rules to God’s word as the Pharisees of old did.
Watch out because if you add the law (works, self-effort) to grace then you are under a double curse (Galatians 1:6-9).
You should read Galatians very carefully and then study Romans, the detailed explanation of how we are saved by grace without the law or “commands”.
John 5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
`
You are welcome.
Glad you found the Bible verses a blessing.
