North Carolina parents have been arrested and charged for allegedly performing an exorcism on their four-year-old son who later died.
Joseph Paul 'Joe' Wilson, 41, and Jodi Ann Wilson, 38, of Surry County, North Carolina were arrested on January 13 after their adoptive son, Skyler, died on January 9.
According to local media, the couple alleged to have restrained and isolated Skyler and performed an exorcism, in addition to other instances of 'abuse.'
In warrants obtained by WFMY, Jodi is accused of sending a picture to her husband of Skyler wrapped in a sheet facedown on the floor with duct tape holding the blanket to the ground.
Law enforcement officials say Skyler was brought into a local hospital on January 5 and Child Protective Services was called on January 6 after sustaining 'injuries related to the abuse' from his parents.
The Wilsons are being held in the Surry County Detention Center without bond.
According to local outlets, Joseph called 911 on January 5, reporting that Skyler was having a seizure.
During the call, a Surry County detective said a woman, purportedly Jodi, could be heard in the background saying, 'it's my fault.'
When EMS arrived, Skyler was not breathing.
The boy was taken to the Intensive Care Unit at Brenner Children's Hospital in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he remained until his death.

The poor child was adopted, too
It means he went from one difficult situation, to a completely terrible one.
God bless him.
You know, a lot of the local news coverage in the U.S. is now provided by foreign media sources. Pretty soon our military defense will also be supplied by a foreign source.
If they called it an ‘abortion’ instead they’d probably get a gold statue to commemorate them.
Maybe they should exorcise them in the same manner until they try to join their son but I’ll bet he is not in the same place as they would end up .
Where and why did these humans relegate themselves to an exorcism?
Which pocket of the Christianity billiard table do or did these humans attend? I use this analogy because, we, as cueballs, driven by our own spiritual needs wants desires -the stick-,are always seeking where how and why either side pocket or corner pocket, would do us best, without having gto make a many bumpered arrival.
And, of course, there is that dreaded 8 ball. You know, that one thing you hit wrongly, and your game is through. Yet, if that is the last ball, and it is your shot, there too, its yours to lose.
Maybe these folks played out their game with this innocent child, threir 8 ball, and really, sadly, missed their shot.
(i do not agree with performing spiritual rituals oof anything complex over a child.)
Every child a wanted child...abortion sure didn’t solve this little boy’s problems.
Born into whatever messed up birth family situation, wanted and adopted by badly screened headcases, social services ignoring a subsequent warning.
Tell me how the rates of child abuse have dropped because of legal abortion. Tell me how all the abused babies were unwanted but their poor mothers couldn’t access abortion aervices.
Two more followers of SATAN! imho
Exorcism is not something to attempt by DIY. The RC Church which mostly still believes in the necessity for the rite and in the reality of demonic possession approaches these matters very carefully and with only priests who have been closely screened and trained in depth. In this tragic case, the first step would have been a detailed physical and psych work up. This child may have has any of a number of disturbing syndromes having nothing to do with demons. The RC’s generally weed out the great majority of cases presented with this methodology which also helps the sufferer to understand his/her case and seek appropriate medical/psychological attention. What tragedy these parents had no one to help them find help. I know they are likely either unchurched or fundamentalists but the RC’s will reach out to anyone who appears to have been demonized.
Some people are beyond ignorant
Technically, they weren't arrested and charged "for performing an exorcism" (it's not against the law), but for abusing the child until he died.
This is what a Satanic nation looks like. It’s widespread and spreading.
Kindly explain. Their little boy was displaying some very disturbing behaviors for the parents to try something this extreme. Read, if you can, my post above. Exorcism is not something to try like a weege board (though I would recommend not to try that either). A number of children with strange behaviors have been victims of DIY exorcisms. These people may have been ignorant but not sadistic just far out of their depth.
You had be up until this point. Â These parents are not the victim of not having help. Â The parents are the evil demons who could use an exorcism, if I believed in such a thing as exorcism.
You know this how? Were you there when their child flung himself into destructive and violent attacks, screamed for hours on end, smashed furniture, bit and clawed the mother. These are a few of the things I know of small children to do and do continually even with powerful tranquilizers being used. You don’t know what you are talking about, something common with many posters on this site.
Don't say another word to me about it.
You truly are a fool if you do not believe in the reality of demonic possession. Begone agent of Satan.
And he looks like he may have had Fetal Alcohol Syndrome from the birth mother. Those "parents"—and the careless adoption agency, if any—are monsters.
