Former Pope Benedict XVI dies age 95

Benedict XVI, the Pope Emeritus, has died in Vatican City at the age of 95 following a period of ill health.

Benedict, who was the first pontiff in almost 600 years to resign his position, rather than hold office for life, passed away on Saturday, according to a statement from the Vatican.

“With sorrow I inform you that the Pope Emeritus, Benedict XVI, passed away today at 9:34 in the Mater Ecclesiae Monastery in the Vatican,” the Director of the Press Office of the Holy See, Matteo Bruni said.

“Further information will be provided as soon as possible.”

News of his death came days after Pope Francis asked the faithful to pray for Benedict, saying he was “very sick.”

“I want to ask you all for a special prayer for Pope Emeritus Benedict who sustains the Church in his silence. He is very sick. We ask the Lord to console and sustain him in this witness of love for the Church to the very end,” Francis said at his general audience on Wednesday.

His health had been in decline for some time.

Benedict stunned the Catholic faithful and religious experts around the world on February 11, 2013, when he announced plans to step down from his position as Pope, citing his “advanced age.”

In his farewell address, the outgoing pope promised to stay “hidden” from the world, but he continued to speak out on religious matters in the years following his retirement, contributing to tensions within the Catholic Church.

A lot of folks would like to know the true story of why Pope Benedict was forced out. A legitimate pope was forced out and placed under house arrest. Francis the Pretender was installed in his place. Francis the Talking Pope has wreaked havoc on Catholicism, and on Christianity at large.

The marks of Satan are all around Bergoglio. He is Satanic, if not Satan himself.

Much sadness for me. He together with Pope St John Paul Ii really opened the door for Episcopalian and Anglican converts. I swam the Tiber 2012-3, and in Rome in 2015 saw him at St Peter’s at Cardinals Mass. what a great man and theologian. Always true to the faith. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, Rest In Peace. 🙏

Did the White House fly the flag at half staff?

Bergoglio is Deep State.

That’s why he was installed.

Unfortunately, I think your statement is accurate. Satan has a foothold in the Vatican (and many other high places of power).

Eternal Rest grant Pope Benedict, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine shine upon him. By the mercy of God may his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed Rest in Peace. Amen.

Many believe the anti-Christ will be out of the Vatican.

You make some very extreme claims: that the Pope was “removed”, yet he himself said he resigned due to age at 85. That he was held in “house arrest”. But you preface it all with “would like to know”.

So you really don’t know any of this, but are merely indulging in conspiracy theory speculation.

Possibly consider that a thread announcing the death of a spiritual leader to millions of faithful Christians is not the right time and place to flaunt your conspiracy theories.

No, Francis. You are sick. Benedict was Pope, and he has no need to rest where he is. You, on the other hand.....

I don’t think the pope has influenced “Christianity as a whole.” Catholics? Perhaps. The church down the street? Not one little bit.
