I stood up to a pastor who did a Sunday evening social. At my mens group I was told he dress up like Doris Day, borrowed some shoes from one man’s wife. The men were all clearly stated that they did not get on stage when him when invited.

I asked the Pastor how this honored God repeatedly. He finally said “fellowship.” The women head of council asked me to leave the church.

The most amazing thing to me was not another man stood up with me....................................

Many are called, few are chosen.

I applaud you. Sadly, I’m not surprised that you stood alone - so many fake man cards issued today.

Yikes! No warning signs ever reared their heads before this? Let me guess ... Contemporary “Christian” music had become the norm there within the last few years...? That’s where it starts, I’ve noticed.

“..The most amazing thing to me was not another man stood up with me..”

Not one bit surprising as this is the kind of stuff that many churches and congregations in America have denigrated to; no respect for God, no respect for the house of the Lord and most of all, no respect of themselves.
I left my former church when all the young women begin line-dancing to secular country music in the church at what was supposed to be a Christmas get-together. That was enough for me, and I was the only one that confronted the Pastor and several deacons over it.
I was told that they were just having “fun” and to “get over it”. I did. I got over it alright...I left and so did my tithes.
I now attend a “holiness” church that respects, honors and preaches the Word of God. It’s kinda like going to church back in the 1950s: the men wear ties, the ladies wear dresses, with high praise & worship that honors the Lord, and the Word of God is preached with an anointing.
The world thinks we’re bat-shite, old-fashion crazy. I don’t care what anyone thinks anymore (other than the Lord), but rest assured, there’s a day coming.....oh, is there ever.

When the Russian Communists began persecuting the church in the 1920's, church attendance dropped 95%. The average church went from 300 to 15. This is when you find out who the real Christians are.

GOOD FOR YOU!

I also stood up in the middle of motivational speech...oops, I mean sermon. The teaching was so anti biblical that I stood up, turned my back to the pulpit. With my back turned, I slowly gathered my papers & pen into my Bible cover, put my reading glasses into the case, picked up my phone and shook my head, then walked out, to never return. I have never done this bold act before. I DID lose what I thought were friends for this action and for going elswhere, however, the refining fire of this action revealed the true dross in these relationships.

The next week I was at my resent to me new church, where the men’s group studies verse-by-verse a book of the Bible on Wednesday nights, another study group early on Sunday we study a different book of the Bible verse-by-verse and then a worship service studying another book. Non-denominational.

The fellowship at this new church is incredible and I am welcomed and “home”. They also recently receivedemy as a new member. Nearly brought tears. Marraige is one man and one woman. Matthew 18 church discipline must be agreed to by every member.

SO refreshing!

I pray that you find a church home which honors God, builds real and genuine fellowship, the Word is clearly and plainly taught and where you develop lifelong, loving relationships.

J

“The woman head of council”
Is her name Jezebel? Or maybe Delilah.
It breaks my heart to hear your report.
I hope the other “men” are ashamed of themselves.
